The only modifications to my car is a starter relay, CD player and alloy handbrake (have original though). Oh and the tyres are Dunlop SP9000's.

Can I be the third member? smile

In fairness, and assuming the previous applications by MuffDaddy, Chimaeraman, Naybr are all interested parties, then you would be the 5th, including Quietlybonkers and myself.

The starter relay 'hot start kit' is almost essential it seems; it's an age thing, as mine functioned perfectly for years without one.
Sadly, the CD players do seem to have been replaced in a number of cars, but I am sure they were only installed for people who didn't realise how impossible it would be hear them.
Sad, but true, the S02s and S03s later approved by TVR are simply not available.

It seems that makes 5 then.

Quality, not quantity smile

Wasn't there a TV series back in the '60's called 'The Five Just Men'? I could never work out if they were supposed to 'Just' as in the upholders of justice or only 'just' made it into the bloke category scratchchin

To your credit Chilli, you can smell a Grifter in a Chimaera forum faster than anyone I know.
You are certainly in the right role over there at MCC.

I have dust caps with a TVR logo - does that mean I am out?
Did you obtain said 'dust caps' (whatever they are) from a TVR main dealer?
I have seen trinkets such as these under the counter, though shockingly in plain view of the public, in certain main dealer shops.

My personal belief is these types of modifications may occur from a slightly exaggerated enthusiasm for the car that one loves so deeply, and is generally quite forgiveable.

I doubt that they "dramatically improve performance", and so your application is under consideration.
Whooppee - under consideration is good enough for me. When installed I did try for a revised 0-60 time but surprisingly I could notice very little difference.

I await confirmation to the club with bated breath.

Mine leaks, so I have wet carpets - so is exactly as it was when it left the factory.....

I saw my faithful TVR expert this morning and asked if he could do a (shock horror) modification. He called it a gurney, I call it a chin spoiler. He showed me one on a Grief to make sure he knew what I meant, and he said that both Grefs and Chims came out of the factory with them, but tended to lose them during use. Can anyone confirm?

I class it as an essential mod if it s one - without it ,my bonnet pops open at 135mph, and the cars were built to do 161.

I can confirm that my dealer ripped mine off the car during the 12k service, after I had done it some damage.
I have never had a problem with the bonnet popping open at as many as 155 leptons, but others have reported it previously.

If memory serves, the original replacement from TVR was something quite insane, like £250.

Somewhere on here there is a thread (about one year old) describing how to make them out of plastic guttering, so that you can produce several and replace them regularly and cheaply.
Not sure this version is a dealer approved modification though rotate

Thanks for that Bill - sorry, iPad won't quote large chunks of text and let me write too.

Glad to know water leaks are standard - are resident mice standard too?

I imagine ny expert (let's give him an alias like " Mat Smith " ) will use something TVR-appropriate for the gurney, though a strip of z profile aluminium bought from Bee n Queue would probably be perfectly adequate.

That smooth bore induction sounds a bit like a performance enhancement to me nick, but we can assume it was lack of availability of original parts that drove you to it?

Not to worry though, I can soon locate a nice new stretchy hoover hose for you.
You have come to the right place for just that sort of assistance smile
