You're absolutely right, I really don't know why I bothered ! Oh yes, that's it, wanted to experiment & gladly act as a bit of a guinea pig for the benefit of others. Dunno why I'm bothering with any other improvements & mods, car runs ok as it is. I heard a nasty rumour the other day that the earth might not be flat ! Do you think anyone will ever volunteer to sail to the edge & see what happens !!

Bad day Richard?
No Dave, pretty productive actually. After making a few work related calls this morning, got into the garage, did oil pressure sender experiment, lunch & PH post, removed trumpet base & swirl pot to send off to SC Power for alterations ready fro return with SC 500 kit before Christmas !!! Just being a bit sarky about Chuffmeisters post, only joshing though ! Mind you the man certainly knows how to use a camera !!This one's a bargain who's going 1st http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Oil-Pressure-Sensor-...

Also haveing a go with the sender and mag sump plug and the v8 filter
Let us know how you get on with the filter, do you mean the Cummins fibreglass element one ?It go's on but still touches the frame cross so I will have to look else ware( had to jack the lump to get it on)
The sender is on but carnt fire it up
Mag sump plug is in as well

How are your engine mounts? if you cant get a baby finger between the pre cat area and the chassis you have issues It go's on but still touches the frame cross so I will have to look else ware( had to jack the lump to get it on)

Finally got round to fitting the new sender the other weekend and altering the wiring. Pretty straight forward, needed some PTFE on the thread to seal it.
Fixed my issue with the gauge wandering all over the place, nice solid reading now and seems more realistic than before.
It's not at 60 psi is it ?Fixed my issue with the gauge wandering all over the place, nice solid reading now and seems more realistic than before.
At idle with cold oil yes it's up at 60psi.
I'm not too bothered about the absolute accuracy of it, my old one was buggered. The needle would wander between 0 and 45 while idling or on a run.
Only managed to get the car out today after fitting it last weekend so I will be keeping an eye on the gauge quite closely so I can see how it performs. As long as I know what normal looks like that's all I really need and the price was right.

I have just ordered this :-
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370678852601
I will let you know if it works out okay on a 0 to 90 PSI gauge.
It needs a separate earth lead.
Can anybody describe the best / nearest suitable earth point ( engine or chassis ?)
Cheers
