The harness mounts under the rear shelf seem ideal then.
Rob, sorry but give us a clue? Harness mounts?

I've just had a look and I can't see them. Can you explain where they are located please?
You might struggle to get to them with the body all the way down paperbag

Have a look at the rear of the rear upper wishbone and just behind this on the top of the upper chassis rail you'll see a tapped lug. That's the upper rear harness mount.

There's only 4 bolts and a jubilee clip securing the tank, it still might be your easiest option smile

JUst collected my Odyssey battery PCL925 today, as per Andy's original post.

I've ran the wiring along the top of the transmission tunnel and re-taped it:

And built a frame around the rear cubby-hole to accommodate the relays height:

The car is being re-carpeted at the moment and then I'll fit a 'door' to the new arrangement, on the rear of the door will be a printed sheet of what each fuse and relay does and the front will be carpeted too.

That's superb Rob and the solution I needed. Don't suppose you know if that harness point is already tapped and what size/thread it is do you?

My approach was to shell out for an AGM battery which I felt would be sufficiently small
Absolutely stunning job btw bow- Would probably go for doing this but am uneasy with the idea of having the battery so close to the fuel tank should the worst happen.

Have been considering as an alternative doing the fusebox move and mounting a smaller battery in its place but not sure if it's feasible?

Do you have the dimensions of the smaller battery?

Cheers

Dimensions here.. http://www.odysseybatteriesonline.co.uk/odyssey/ot...
Yup would be perfectly feasible to move the fusebox & use the PC925 battery in the existing place, although you would need a new smaller battery box.

I have got the PC925 off your recommendation and while I am waiting for the guy who did the cables on your to come back to me (he was away when I emailed and I'm still waiting) I have the PC925 in the old battery box but 90 degrees to normal. I have just packed it out with some foam temporarily.

Mark,

I got the battery cables from here - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/kojaycatvehiclewiring the will make up battery cables to your spec.
The lengths I used are below,
Red cable Length 3M termination M6 end 1 M8 end 2
Black cable Length 2.6M termination M6 end 1 M10 end 2

The M6 ring ends go to the battery, the other ends go to the earthing point (M10) on the chassis and the starter motor (M8)
The Red cable was a little short, so I woul fo for a 3.5m lenght if I did it again.

Other bits were bought from Polevolt or vehicle wiring products.

Andy

Should have told you the cable size!
40mm 300 Amps BATTERY STARTER CABLE

After waiting 2 weeks and getting no reply to my email I sent another to the wiring supplier but he says he no longer makes them up. He will only supply the cable and ends. rolleyes

Anyone any idea for having hem made up and properly crimped?

I could do them myself but would only be able to solder and/or vice crimp

Alan,

I'm in the middle of doing the same thing at the moment on a Griffith.

I am borowing a crimper from work which we use to do DC cables in BT exchanges. If you fancy a blast down to Rugby, I'll let you know once I've got hold of it and you're welcome to bring the car/cables down and we can crimp them up.

I would avoid the solder route if I were you as it can make for a very stiff/brittle connection - the solder tends to run further down the cable than the terminal.

Got hold of the tool today, and have it until next Monday.

Quite busy over the weekend with non-TVR related stuff, so if you could make it one evening this week - that would be ideal.

Have PM'd you with my mobile number, give me a call later on to arrange.

OK. I haven't got the cable yet so will try and order it tonight (Although I won't get home until 10.30 at the earliest). This could be quite a tight dedline.

What cable have you used?
