Just a quick big thanks to rich858 for his help and support over the last couple of days, working with alun must have been trying to say the least but all part of life's rich tapestry!
Car is moving on and realistically almost ready to fire up,fluids all in and no leaks act exhaust fitted.....looks the dogs got to check the fuel as injectors changed and a little bit of work on the electrics and that should do
In view of safety ran the main electrics on a battery charger for initial tests just in case of problems but all was clear, however this did produce some strange noises! My thoughts were bad earths and since I have taken the plunge and connected to the main battery....all is settled and the car is happy
Today will be bond headlights in,try and finish engine electrics finish boot area with locks wiring and carpets
Apart from a bit of tidying the underside is complete which is a major tick off the lists
Once again thanks Richard and continued thanks to alun

It was my pleasure Rich and the very least I could do, all things considered. Yes it was very, very trying "working" with Alun, just trying to keep him focused on one job at a time, and not romancing about his conquests almost drained me completely wink wouldn't change him for the world thumbup

Many thanks for the great sandwiches and plentiful mugs of tea. Stay strong mate & keep the faith.

Some of you will know about aluns tragic news but this is not the place for that only to add that we are here to help in anyway and I've also had some more shattering news which has curtailed things a bit this week.....however......you can't sit and cry for too long and I have managed to do the following
Circuits sorted out from the immobiliser to give me all the start, ignition etc functions for the new ecu
New boot lock assembly fitted
Headlights bonded in
Did a fuel pressure test and found some leaks on the rail so stripped and o rings replaced. Tested ok
Finished engine control wiring although missing otter switch signal at mo and found elec drawing wrong for oil sender!
Fitted dedicated earth for ecu
Going for wide band lamba control so clive f manifold removed to have boss welded in
Getting ready to start engine at the weekend so spun it up with no plugs....bugger...can't get oil pressure, new pump was fitted during strip down and not really sure what's up....possibly the relief valve? Going to fit a temp mechanical gauge to check if it's an electrical gremlin but getting prepared to drop the timing cover off... Bloody pain but don't want to take any chances
So that's about it at the mo...will keep you posted, and alun keep your pecker up!

Rich, I had that after a specialist engine builder built my 4.6 engine.
It had no oil pressure even when the engine started and was idling. After the car was returned and the builder couldn't find anything wrong with it, I stripped off the sump and found the oil pickup pipe was loose, not hanging off but bolts loose!

Have you had the pressure relief valve apart, if not and it was fine before I would've thought that it was unlikely to be the problem.

Serpentine engines prime immediately and do not give any problems on initial start-up. Even an old oil pump will prime giving slightly less oil pressure

If it helps, I had the wide band lambda sensor bung welded in to the main exhaust pipe just after the join to the Y-Piece. The lambda sensors have to be kept as close to vertical as possible to avoid damage, I think from moisture.

I tried taking the relief valve apart when the front cover was off but the end cap was stuck fast so left alone however it was fine before
Got new gaskets and a replacement cap for the valve so will check with a mechanical gauge first before stripping it out, just a pain,it is a new pump and I built the bottom end so are pretty sure nothing is loose

It's on a Clive y so there is a small section just below the 2pipes joining which is ideal for the socket....fingers crossed !!
