Where did all this start exactly. It would be interesting to know when the rivalry / mikey-taking began and who started off the stereotypes. There must have been a medalion man somewhere back in the day.

yes, his name was Ken, I found a photo from before Haymarket bought out PH. Funnily enough he hasn't changed a bit

This pretty much goes back to the start of PistonHeads when it was mainly TVR stuff. The Chimaera boys put the Griff Girls straight on how pig ugly their cars were and it kind of went from there.

Crikey has it been that long. Yeah, it was going when I joined and has kept going ever since laugh

Are there any differences between the breed of Ken that correspond to the Griff engine size, i.e. do you have to have all-over body hair to be allowed a 500 ?

500 griffs tend to be a bit more flamboyant

It’s the stuff of Bull Sh*t!... how on earth anyone can think those over weight, extended reared, double bubbled doored, dopy looking front things look anywhere close as nice as the Griff is beyond belief!tongue out

To get one in Pink and then drive it in a Pink MX5 cap just sums it up!!laugh

Barbie cars!!hehe

No.. The Griff is indeed a true British sports car with fantastic looks and performance… Made for red blooded Male's!!yes

I have experienced driving into a pub car park following a Chimp .. and you could hear the giggles as the Chimp went in… and then the gasps of admiration when I followed in the Griff!cool

What more can one say

BTW.. I was only following it in an attempt to cover up its boots so no one choked on their drinks... no other reason!!!!!

i fear the girls do tend to protest too much.... contrive to be more bull than femme (if you know what I mean) the carefully cultivated macho exterior is a front for something altogether more sinister, well, if not more sinister then perhaps simply more, you know, gheeeyyy.....

He was in the Indie's demonstrator that day, having dropped off his Griff to get a far superior chimaera bonnet mod fitted - skip to 50 seconds onwards:

chimaera owners on the other hand are comfortable in their own skin, at ease with their sexuality, no need for macho posturing....... need I say more ?

This is getting way out of hand. For God's sake, We all have the same love of TVR's, and we share the same passion for proper British sports cars. We are different to the masses, but also lucky that we can indulge in our passions. As Chim owners we are no different to Griff owners. Other than we don't like fug-ugly looking motors with no boot space biggrin

I agree fully… beauty is indeed only skin deep… underneath we are all the same…granted a bit more weight in the Chim body.. that does slow it down a tad.. but it does not matter… It came from the same design team… from the same factory… (well some of them unless you’ve got a Far-East one) that I’m sure were made to the same exacting standards as the UK ones (well close enough anyway)… and lovingly finished by the same fully trained craftsmen (well they started on the Chimp line and once qualified were allowed to build Griff’s) .. so yes.. we should stop this stupid squabbling and move on!

So just accept it.. Griff’s rule!!
yes
