Right! This was my plan about 6 years ago: Buy a TVR, then move on and try different sports cars.

6 years later I still have the Chimaera! I want to buy perhaps a Cerbera 4.5 or maybe a high powered Skyline but I just can't bare to see my little blue car go!

It's not perfect... it leaks and needs new carpets, and could do with a respray... but it's reliable and mechanically sound! And I still really enjoy the drive... lots of fun, lots of power... oh, and it sounds fantastic (thanks, Austec )

Someone convince me that it's time to move on and try a different car, or I'll have it in another 10 years!!

Or save up enough to buy a Tuscan/Cerbera and keep the Chimaera

They sure are addictive, Shadowninja. As Dr Spock might have said, "Buying a TVR, Captain, is not logical, but it beats taking a bus anytime."

Wash your mouth out woman, coming into a sacred TVR forum and using abusive language like that!

I’ll try to think of a suitable punishment before we next meet up! OH

Surely Dr Spock would say "Buying a TVR, it's nearly as expensive as having a child, but a lot harder to get rid of" .

I think LA meant Mr Spock

I'm exactly the same, I used to change cars after about 2 years, the Chimaera is into year 6, everytime I think about changing something crops up to change my plans, and what do you buy that gives you the same rush, you could change for a different model, bigger engine, even a Grif, but it's basically the same and could be getting a whole new set of problems that you've sorted on the current car
Cerberas are different enough but the running cost are 100% more, and anything with the same performance is either a lot older or a lot more expensive, it's a tricky decission, but at least we have nice cars to drive around while we're worrying about what to buy (or not to buy) next

Hi shadowninja, i think the opposite to you! My Chim is the first car I have had for more than 2 years, and it is great relief to have finally found a car which is still keeping me entertained / amused / interested for the forseeable future!
