Mine had been bodged up in the past with alli plates which over time had started to suffer from fatigue and allowed the captive nuts to work loose.

To repair I had to take a hole saw to the inside of the bonnet and re- glass them in properly. A bit of a fiddly job but its lasted 2 years so far wink

Do you mean drill holes both sides ? Mine are moving both sides . And I take it you mean in the under bonnet bulge ..

I notice that your car is a '95 like mine so you have the light weight bonnet.

If you open it up and look down towards where the hinges are you will see a 'box section, in to which the captive nuts are located. I drilled a 1 1/4" hole on both sides adjacent to the fixings.

This may help, not a great pic as Apple decided it best not to fit a flash on my iPad.

I haven't 'made good' yet either.

When I do this repair I weld a piece of studding into each end of a steel tube.
Remove the original captive fixings (which have now broken free). Make access holes in the box section and fit the tube so the stud sticks out each side. The tube can then be bonded into place. Make and fit a cover for the access holes.

I have seen this a few times before, the guys at southways did an excellent job of mine when I had the chassis done. Full pics/details at the link, the last few photos in the gallery.
