...any common causes?

After replacing the 15 Amp fuse the dashboard dials will once again work fine. It is only when I turn the heater (well the fan) on that the fuse blows but not immediatly - maybe after 15/20 mins of driving? Any ideas?

I have the older style dash

Hi, Is your fan noisey or running slow with little air movement, if so it may be the current being drawn by the motor is blowing the fuse, I had the same problem but it was blowing the fuse after 30 seconds. If you unplug the blower motor (its in the ns footwell against the inner wing below the heater pipes) then try it if the fuse doesn't blow then its the motor at fault
Hope this has helped

That could be a contender! Air flow has always been pretty naff (fan speed 1&2 hardly register). I will replace it. Thanks Jamie

The same was happening to mine when I first got it. The fan motor had virtually seized up (due to water ingress from the N/S indicator repeater), causing excessive ampage draw - thus blowing fuse.

I removed fan, gave it a good soak and refitted. It's been fine ever since.
