Maybe a stupid question but I've just had new Toyo Proxes T1R's fitted and not sure if it's me or I'm just imagining it but the murta feels a bit "wobbly" on the road. Previous tyres were the original Bridgestone SO2 Potenza's and she felt a lot more "planted" on them. Can someone confirm if the tyre pressures on the Toyo's will be same as the Bridgstones ?? confused

Don't know why but non-TVR-savvy garages and tyre fitters have always seemed to automatically put 32psi into the tyres on my car which makes it incredibly "skippy" ... 24 (as per the previous poster) seems much more suitable.

New tyres are covered in a release fluid and it'll have you in a 360 at a roundabout if you aren't careful for 80/100 miles running. Or a couple of laps at Castle Combe!!

Likewise running anything over 28+ psi on a TVR.

I run 24/26 on mine and it feels a lot better than the recommended 22/24 that was based on the harder walled Bridgestone tyres the cars were factory equipped with.

As above, they also need scrubbing in.

I'm with Trev on this - I also have T1Rs, and they were very squiffy for a while - but after being 'cured' they're great!

Pressures: I run 24 Front, 26 Rear - people say Toyos have more flexible walls than Bridgestones that were standard when Chims were built.

Thanks for the advice lads. Will try a bit more air. Not sure if anyone is interested but got the Toyo's delivered for £296 and fitted for £60.

I swapped from S03 to Toyos. Mine are 22 front and 24 rear (as per the TVR handbook). Have also had the same problem with tyre fitters putting them up to 32 and it's horrible. I thought I had a front suspension failure !

Just had a service and the garage put the fronts up to 26 and even that felt rather unsteady at motorway speeds and like it was loosing traction over bumps.

The Toyos do have(I believe) quite soft sidewalls too, compared to a SO2. You will probably find that the dry grip is not as good as the SO2s but the wet grip is massively better.
