Just wondered if anyone out there ever did any car swapping... I'm the proud owner of a 390se but have a hankering to get back in a Chim or similar. Obviously if this gets out my wife would kill me as she wants me to sell the car for 'practical' reasons (whatever they are) but I'll take the chance and hope she doesn't check the internet history!

Stu, your wife's right your a bad influence, I'd love a motor like yours but couldn't part with my Chim for love nor money.
Rather a good idea though.

Alun, I've had time in a Chim, a Cerb, a 450se a Griff 5.0 and not the 390se. The 390 is a thrill a minute more so than most others (Griff aside), but i, like you, have some kind of attachemnt to the Chims..

Without wanting to sound argumentative, just interested - why?

Thanks,

Dom

Why Swap...? Love the 390 but never went out to buy one. I spotted one drove it and bought it before it came to market and although its a fantastic car, it is a 1988 and I dont use it like i would a chim. Its faster, yes, and more aggressive but as its becoming a bit of a collectors item and I feel like i need to take care of it rather than enjoy it. I have some romantic attachment to the Chim as it was the first TVR i owned... No more than that. I'd keep the 390 if the right car didnt come up! Still a fantastic bit of kit!

Wedggie we need to see pics. Channel Islands ,,,,,, cars bone dry then!
Well if it was a Cerb, lol.
Everything's for sale at the right price!

Trouble is I washed mine earlier and those curves, corr baby.

I actually think wedges are the best looking Tvr but I'm not much for the modern type dash!

When you say swap, what like for a week or three or swap for ever!

Are you mad. A wedge come on there fecking ace.

Its tropical down here! Its an 88 with 56,000 on the clock. 6 month swapsies would be a good idea, perhaps we could set up a TVR Pool (other than blackpool) then we could all have a go in each others!!?

For he right car, this move would have to be forever.

I assume you're still talking about the car?

Er, scuse my curiousity, but why 'Griff aside' ??? Are you saying the Griff is more 'a thrill a minute' more than a Chim??? Shame on you if so.............. wink

Nice pic, to much power or what, she's a bit crossed up.

No Chilli, I'd never suggest such a thing... Gulp. Having said that, i've never had the pleasure of having a go in anything over a 4l chim.

Don't wish to open a 400 vs 450 vs 500 debate, (or a Chim/Griff debate) but...... we all know which is the rarest and quickest whistle
