My knob looked a bit neglected so i decided to give it some attention

This is how it looked redface

very easy job to do, bit of threaded bar and a fast drill

After a few runs with progressively finer wet/dry paper (started with 120, then 600 grit) to get this

Then finally 1200 grit and a rag covered in solvol metal polish

If you want the less polished look, just do upto the 600 grit stage, this gives a finish similar to the original

Very impressive and superb shine, does polishing with a V5 give it the final gloss?

Would need to be!! Would also have to put a 45 degree bend halfway up the threaded rod to even make it touch the sides!! whistle
