Who said S03s are crap? Many of the sprinters who are using them are setting PBs...

Yes but the Blackpool boys were running them on 17/18/20/24 inch or whatever the current big wheel fad is. The S03s have a stiffer sidewall which improves the handling but and this is a very big but, the lower profile tyres on the bigger wheels already dial out a lot of the complience and the combination of very low profile tyres and S03s did not work too well with owners complaining of tramlining and braking/cracking wheels on bumps and curbs.

On the standard 15/16 inch wheels that the Rover based cars have, this is far less of a problem.

This has been done to death before, so have a good trawl in the archives...

when I bought my car back in Feb it came with four brand new S)3's courtesy of Mole Valley.

These tyres are fantastic – wet or dry. Terrific grip.*

*Never driven on S02's though .

I'm about to get a new set of tyres with a set of replacement alloys... I was considering some form of Goodyear F1s... after that Evo test (came top), they sound like they are the nuts. Anyone got any exerience with them on Tivs?

I've not had F1's on the Tiv, but had them on both the Mustang and the Viper and they are good tyres IMO.

This S02 thing is a bit mick I reckon because Ferrari are selling the 575M with S02's on it and if there are none left how come they have got them.

Must be something to do with the racing team I suppose.

Matt.

Yep, we're agreed big time, your tyres' image is very important. I think the name needs to be cool, e.g: Firestone, Bridgestone, Pirelli etc. Semperit, Ceat and Toyo just dont cut the mustard.

What about Avo ZZ tyres??
The new TVR dealer, Clarks in Bromsgrove (doubling as a Honda dealer?!?!) has a Cerbera on the forecourt with Avon ZZs on the rear. I've rang a few people and they're about £90 all in for Chimaera rears. The 15" come as ZR rated too

Sorry, for Avo - read AVON. I must slow down my typing to avoid all the typos!!

Or Bracknell Tyre & Battery if it's closer. I've used both & their prices are the same.

I had two SO2s fitted yesterday via Black Circles @ £93.50 each, fitted. Just had to drive a couple of miles to get them done - they tell you where to go (0845 200 0022)

Micheldever (sp?) in Hampshire still have some and quoted £79.35 fitted for two but I didn't fancy a hike down the M3.
Number is 01962 774437
