Err, this doesn't relate to your prowess in bed wink

Shakespeare Raceway, Run Wot You Brung general public day.

http://www.shakespearecountyraceway.com/eventdetai...

Derek and I have been discussing a general drag day and this date seems favourite at the moment.

It is a great day to safely run your car at full chat against the clock, friends and others.

We have done this a few times now and have a great time, (even had Daz and Mac dancing after a few beers!)

If you haven't been here, (or any other drag event) and fancy a flat out blast then this is the place for you!

This is a very casual event. Turn up, register, pay £25.00, get in the queue and let rip.

I will be staying over from Friday to Saturday when the event starts, (runs on Sunday too) so a few beers and a chilli is mandatory wink

I will bring my hat along so if, (and that's a big IF!) Derek beats my NA RV8 time, I will eat it!

So come on guys, sign up for a great time as not only can you run your own P&J but you can enjoy watching others run.

BTW, I put this on the chim forum as it seems that this is the most read/enthusiastic/most modded car forum!

Any other make/models most welcome.

Planning to come along, popped along for a bit last year to support the TVR crew.

Not sure I'm brave enough to take a trip up the strip.

I'll have a think about it smile

I just loaded my car on the trailer ready for a trip to the rolling road tomorrow.
I might take Peters NA record this Sunday at York if its not raining too much.

I hope we see a good turn out at Shakey. As Peter says its good clean cheap fun. Once you have seen a few cars run you will realize how easy it is. Bring a helmet if you have one and your driving licence.
Everything else no doubt me or Peter will have.

Did my first ever 'track' event here in about 1990 in my 450SE. 1/4 in ~14 secs IIRC.

Wonder if an old(er) man in something more powerful could beat that?

Had a go at this couple of years ago when I had the Chimaera, standard 4 litre so no amazing times to shout about... but good fun!

Recall something about gloves and covered arms if running with top down, yes, I had one of those rare Chimaera's where the top actually came off...;)

Looking forward to the RR results Derek biggrin

What's missing from the table appears to be a NA Chimaera in the 11's scratchchin I'd need a new set of rear's and a new clutch to stand any chance of that (and a lot of practise)

I won't be around for most of April(as usual) frown

Is anybody going to be there on the Sunday as I really fancy seeing what else I can break on the car but can't make Saturday?

R1R's Peter,,, ????? Corr there's more to come I reckon,, lots more wink
You and Derek, me and the workd, hehe ,
So even if I'm last I can still have my name up on there as someone who's actually done it,,,
Worth the asking fee just for that,,, wink
It's two weeks away,, you never know if the car will be running that far in the future but feck me if it is, I gotta have a blast at this,,, I've never had the bug but the more I think about it,, it's only a mile a run,,,,should be a right good weekend with all the other pucker drag cars etc,,
The N/A tittle up for grabs,,, come on Chilli fk it, jump ship smile
Daz,, that Motors dying for it,,,
I know we all have our own plans etc but if you can you should I reckon,
This could be a big weekend in Tvr history maybe,,
Come on Chimpongas, let's see the true potential of LPG and slick gear changes,,, It might give you half a second at least,,,,,
Haha I'm enjoying this,,, keep building the buzz boys, Derek's throwing the gauntlets about like nobodies business,,,
Who wouldn't want to see the two great Chims in Peters and Derek's car blasting off the lights and fighting for better traction,,, Derek's got that one nailed but hey,, I'll be running a book so get your bets in early if you want good odds,,,,
Close call this one,, race of the year this one,, massively exciting, hehe I'm cheering them both on that's all I know,,
Top crac this... hehe
