Hi,
As the search function is currently down could any of you point me to where I can get some plates made up for my Chim? I'm having trouble finding someone near St Neots/Bedford that can do me a backlit one.
I think www.fancyplates.com/ can make them ...

I've just fitted a 3/4 size
They do look really good but [boring old fart]Are these legal?[/boring old fart]![]()
Rich
I wouldn't have thought so, I went for the 3/4 size rather than the 2/3 size as that looked really small.
I've driven past some police cars and they didn't pull me over. If your worried about it don't do it, if I get any greif I'll switch it back.

Whats a backlit plate when it's at home?
Boosted.
Its a Translucent number plate, abit like signs on shop fronts, light is behind the plate instead of above.
Can't say I've ever seen one. Are they very distinctive. Sound pukka but what about regs etc and the old bill if ever you should see one that is
. Boosted.
According to an article in sprint about the "White Elephant", it was an idea they came up with when they wanted to do something different for it.
They checked the regulations on number plate lighting and whilst it mentioned the distance the lights had to be from the plate, it said nothing about which side of the plate they had to be on.
The vehicle inspector (is this type approval or MOT?) didn't like it, but couldn't come up with any way of failing it, and Peter Wheeler liked it so much they used it on the Griff and Chim.

I need to get some GB plates for continental motoring.
Just been looking at the fancyplates site. Has anyone had their plates made up with the TVR logo in the bottom RH corner? If so, does it look okay?
Don't want anything to look Lax Power, you see...
I have - it looks fine, just looks like a proper TVR logo.
