Chimaera central locking problem

I made the mistake of leaving my lights on and flattend the battery on my Chim. The friendly RAC man got me going again with a jump start but since then my central locking has not worked. I cannot lock the car and the only way to start it is to use the immobiliser key thingy to disable the immobiliser. Any ideas?

Really annoying that one! Mine does this if I allow to go flat - upsets something in immobiliser system. Because I've charged/jumped, the power returns too slow to reset?? Actually I haven't a clue why, but.......

Disconnect a battery lead (I guess the earth is a safer bet re spanners&sparks etc) leave off for say 15-20 seconds - minute tops. Reconnect (alarm may go crazy, but mine usually just needs a couple of plipper presses) and you're back in business

Hope that sorts you out - just remember if you step out the car between removin/replacing lead - don't shut the door!!!

I had the same problem recently. From the advice I was given it seems that when the battery goes flat the alarm goes onto internal battery which then itself goes flat. When you jump start or recharge the car battery the alarm recharges itself, but in order for it to start up properly it has to have good 12V from its internal battery - so it doesnt kick into life immediately. You need to recharge the main battery (or jump start) then give it a few minutes for the alarm to charge itself enough to have decent voltage. Then disconnect the car battery for about 5 seconds, reconnect and hey presto everything works again.

As the alarm controls the central locking when its dead so are the locks...

Just did it myself - great use of a couple of hours! Well worth it...

Thanks for all the comments, disconnected the battery and reconnected and everything is now working fine.
