Advice...pls!

Can anyone advise the best (and cheapest!) place to get new carpets for my Chimera? I dont want the whole lot doing, just the two front fitted mats. Also, my speedo is playing up and I need it replacing. Is this a "main dealer" only job???

Carpets - try "martrim" in Middlewich, Cheshire.

Dodgy Speedo - not sure - what are the symptoms?

Re the mats, heard good things from seller on ebay. worth a look wuddathought. My speedo also plays up....believe it could be down to an earth fault. get steve heaths "bible". Twill explain better than I!!!

If the speedo seems knackered it's likely to be the transducer that runs of the diff and sends pulses to the head unit.

If it turns out that the head unit is knackered Leven will probably be able to do a "refurbished for old" swap.

Its the trip thats doesnt work not the full speedo.

Have emailed martrim but no repsonse. Will ring them next week.

Is the odometer stuck on xx999 by any chance as well as the trip not working?
If so if you take the dash out and tap the back of the speedo so it clicks around to xx000 then the trip should work too. Common fault/quirk.

I have just ordered some and am awaiting delivery so can't vouch for the quality, although others seem very pleased. The price on the website is for 4 mats. You can order just 2 but have to do it over the phone and you get a 10% discount. Speak to Les Hughes on 01488 689429 and don't forget to mention pistonheads!

well i ordered some from coverdale carpets
they were 200 quid for non wool ones or 250 for the wool ones
fully bound like the TVR one
but mine have not arived yet
they should be arriving next week so will take some picys when i get chance
