Another TVR virgin with a big grin on his face. Just picked mine up yesterday from Rumrunner over near Abersoch, it's a beaut in superb condition and a real credit to him. Had a great drive back in the sunshine, just didn't want to go to work this morning, could hear the Chim in the garage,'Drive me now, drive me now'. unfortunately i've got to pay the bills. Anyway, just a question now; has anyone got any experience of solar battery chargers as I don't have power in my garage. Cheers,

WazzaL

Thanks, I've got to take some pics for the insurance anyway so I'll post them as and when.

I've been told the Halfords solar trickle charger is an alright piece of kit.

cloud9 Well done! I know the feeling - picked mine up just 10 days ago and been too busy out with the top off in this wonderful weather we've had to get round to posting the usual announcement! Anyway, keep an eye on this forum - loads of helpful and appropriate stuff, and a good bunch of people too. Aside from driving through tunnels, that's one of the unexpected biggies I've discovered about TVR oownership!!

Good luck again, and watch that right foot in the wet!!

(P.S. Not sure how to embed a picture in these posts so if someone can tell me...)

If you think tunnels are fun, head to a multi storey car park, and set off a few alarms as you drive past.....

Hi Ian
I forgot to give you more info on that , this style does not put enough in apart from a good week in the summer www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=47902&doy=3m4. Its only 1.5w helps but not enough, that's why i upgraded to the plug in optimate. This is more like it www.solar-batterycharger.co.uk/PRO%205W.htm , though a 3w will probably do. Maplins used to do them but don't see any 3 w on there site .
I keep going into the garage and keep expecting to see the Chim , then feel sad. I am glad its gone to a good home though .
Have fun with her.
The search is beginning for a 500 !driving

6w looks good hear and cheaper :- www.electricfence-online.co.uk/ishop/1047/shopscr284.html

Thanks guys, and cheers for the info Andy. Not surprised you miss her, I haven't been able to concentrate at work yet this week; might be good weather this weekend - thinking Snake Pass!
Good luck with the 500, and thanks again.

Ian another quick tip always leave it in gear when you have been for a drive as twice the car has started to roll after about 5 mins .I think its due to there not being much leverage on the hand brake and also the new pads and discs must retain the heat and as they start to cool and contract means there is less friction and she slowly start to have a mind of her own. They have also not really been used in anger so they probably need a good bedding in as well( could also be me not pulling hard enough). Not sure if anybody else has had that problem?.

Thanks mate, I've always been in the habit of leaving cars in gear anyway so shouldn't have any problem. Had a day off today and been for a blast round - great fun, drives like a dream.
