Door cards...........
Discussion
First, shave most of the flesh off your arms! Seriously, if you've got arms like Popeye, you're going to struggle; if not, it's just going to awkward and occasionally painful.
You need to remove the speaker first (usually popping off the grille will expose the fixing screws).
Then there are 4 10mm nuts + large washers which fit onto studs which protrude through the door from the door card. To undo these, you have to get your arm through the speaker hole (ensure the window is fully up first). One of the nuts is just forward of the speaker hole, the other 3 are dotted along the length of the door (IIRC, one near the mirror switch, one near the lighter, and one still further back). A 1/4 drive ratchet will do some of them, for the rest you'll need a spanner. You also need to prise out the ashtray, because there's a screw behind it going into the door frame. Once the screw & 4 nuts have been removed pull the card away from the bottom of the door and slide upwards to unhook it at the top. Then reach behind it & disconnect the wiring connector. Once the door card is off, the carpeted panel will still be attached to door. This is retained by (on my car) 4 crosshead screws (which aren't very easy to find as they're buried in the carpet pile).
When you come to refit, you'll have great fun getting the nuts & washers back on. Don't do any up tight until you got each of the nuts engaged by a few threads, otherwise if you drop one down into the door you'll have to undo all of them to get it back out again. Someone else on this forum suggested using wing nuts when you put it back together, so you don't have to muck about with spanners & sockets - seems like a good idea.
Good luck, and I hope the scratches on your arm heal quickly.

Sorry, don't understand your post ?? You haven't got ashtrays but want to know how to remove them ?? Are you asking how to remove the door card on ones without the ashtrays ??
How to remove the card, not the non-existent ashstray
I have no ashtrays in mine and hence no access to the upper bolt. I asked myself whether the mounting is different for these cards before doing trial & error.
This place never ceases to amaze me, been doing a bit of tarting up today, taken the rear hood section off to re-attach the headlining. Always a bit more work than you originally expect!
I had just about finished when I noticed the passenger side door card was loose at the top corner, had a quick look but couldn’t see any way of getting in so made a mental note to do a search on the forum.
What do I find on the first page but a detailed explanation staring me in the face. BRILLIANT!!
