Just before I go through the pain of giving my details for the umpteenth time has anybody had a better quote of £254.00 fully comp 3k a year for a 93 4.0l Chim. Im 41 in the south with a garage. This present renewal quote is with RH Insurance Specialist. I was wondering if anyone is getting sub £200 quotes as Ive heard other like performace cars can get less than this.

I would try Hagerty, if they can't do it then you may as well give up and stick with what you have.

Only downside, no DOC on policy, other than that everyone I have spoken to about them seems to rave about their quality service/prices.

My Ginetta G33 is with Adrian Flux. Its a 3.9l Rover V8 engine, and pretty quick, certainly comparable to a Chim in terms of performance and value. Cost £180 this year for 5000 miles. I am 42 and going bald so that probably saves £50 at least.

28 and bald with cheaper car insurance, or 28, more hair to flap gloriously in the wind, and a few quid more on the insurance?

Apparently a smooth shiny pate reduces wind resistance in an open top car and is good for an extra 2 mph max speed and 0.5 mpg.

FWIW I'm just going through the same process & A Manning are closet to Hagerty (via TVR CC) but Hagerty still win hands down with excess, track cover etc.

I claimed with them last year too & it was an incredibly straight fwd process too, top marks to them.

Can anyone help me? I am paying over £800 year, 40years old, 3 years no claims (due to company car) been driving for 23years, for a 94 4ltr Chim with 5K limited mileage, my only down fall is i dont garage the car, but is parked off the street, on my drive, Cat 2 imobiliser and a 2ton Mitsubushi warrior in front of it 14hours a day!

only used as a second car for fun during good weather, i have tryed the usual "insurance websites" but i can never get anywhere near the prices you guys are talking about!

Quick Update.
A very happy customer at the mo with the service Hagerty has given me. Very helpful people on the phone who sound as if they are enjoying what they do instead of a stuffed chicken reading off a piece of paper. Also they saved me fifty quid which is the important bit.

I'm also doing the rounds to switch to an insurer who will cover tracks days, in one way or another. I've a 2000 450 Chim, 5K miles, garaged, post code BH21 and I'm 45 yrs, clean licence etc, full NCD, only driver.

Haggerty £360 + 10% of premium per track day. NOTE : 5K miles is MAX !!

A Plan - No track day cover

Manning £370 inc. 'authorised' track days (when excess increases to £1000)

Current policy : Direct Line (no track days, of course !!) - £298

The new quotes still seem a long way off some quotes mentioned ...

I'm paying £600 a year for a 10k mileage agreement and no second car, parked on street overnight. I'm 26 with 4yrs NCB. This is with Privilege if that's any use?! They were cheaper than any of the specialists for me, but that could just be because of the 4YNCB?
