JE alternator bracket
Discussion
Anyone know the gen with these? The description off his site says:
Short alternator bracket and tensioner suitable for serpentine front covers and with early short water pumps.
Is this suggesting there are different 'depth' serp set ups, or is the 'early short water pumps' reference meaning one of the pre-serp set-ups is catered for as well? I suspect it's the latter but would welcome any confirmation as I need to sort for the weekend...

errr whats wrong with your old one ???
Have you ever seen the size of it & felt the weight?I guess not, otherwise you wouldn't ask

There are other factors, however good the bearing it saps some energy, and you minimize the number of them with the manual tensioner. Many people sniff at the minimal belt loop contact, but one thing many of us look at is reducing the water pump load at chat - so maybe belt slippage could even be a good thing

Will need to retain the power steering pump for a while at least so the water pump will still have plenty of wraparound (oo'er)... been meaning to sort this for ages but as the oem belt decided to shred itself last night, I might as well get on with it. Only 13years and 98k miles old too; do you think I should complain to Dayco? :hehe;
The later serps (GEMS) had no dizzy .. and as such are shorter. All TVR's with the serp front are what is call intermediate.
I have one on the JE brackets and adjusters .. it basically does away with the need to have the Dayco automatic belt tensioner and huge lump of alloy it all sits on.
