Exhaust manifolds
Discussion
For a while now I've been thinking about the exhaust manifolds and looking at options. I don't like the look of the current set up and can't help thinking that power is being lost due to the fact that all the pipes aren't the same length. I posted a while ago thinking about the ACT manifolds, performance cats etc.
As a result of this I'm going to get a set made up by a friend. The idea is to use some old manifolds as a template to start with.
Before we do too much, is this a waste of time, is there anything to be gained? I"d welcome the thoughts of anyone who has already tried this.
Cheers

Clive Ford is developing just that, the first set of manifolds being available very soon according to the FaceBook page he's created to promote his TVR manifold work & his respected Y pieces that he's been offering for a number of years.
Cant wait to see what they are going to look like. Heres a little taster.A sample of some of his work http://i32.tinypic.com/3328h75.jpg
some very nice tig work on show there but frankly not as smooth flowing as the originals, all made with straight tube presumably 304 decorative tube and dairy bends, the originals are mandrel bent and are as good if not better now if there is a mandrel bent equal length version that would be of interest to the tuned engine fraternity little use to standard engines but i can see why people buy just for the shiny look incidentally the originals can be polished but soon revert as will the ones on show, just my take you understand.

Clive previously made some equal length stainless manifolds which gave more power but there weren't many takers.john

I have those very manifolds, not only do they add power but they sound evil, like a mash up of a angry RV8 and a screaming AJP.I have the Sprint article somewhere, 30ish BHP if I remember on a 500 Griff. I also think he is making these available again if his Facebook page is anything to go by.
