It's a 1998 car. I thought the off side would be worse and they were, strange really as the near side runs closer to the gutter.
They going to be replaced by 3mm chromealloy(sp) with the body still on, just one hole cut in the floor to get to the centre tube. Will also be putting on braces from the outriggers to the chassis for seat mountings.
I have rubbed the main frame down to bare metal and had it looked at by a professional restorer and all is good

The main chassis is absolutely spot on, the outriggers were completely and absoloutly fooked. 2-3 inches from the main chassis down is untouched by rust. We were talking today at the workshop, the worst part is that if the car was put in for an MOT it would have passed. Scary when you think that the seat belts would have failed and the rest would have been down to 1/2" bolts going through fibre glass.
