A new quirk seems to have appeared with my baby...

Basically whilst in the process of coming to a stop I have noticed that my idle rate is not dropping to the normal 800 or so revs and is being maintained at about 1200-1600. This only happens whilst I am moving and drops to normal when the car comes to a complete standstill.

This occurs even when having no gear selected (or the clutch depressed) and cruising to a stop, ie the car will cruise at 70mph with the clutch depressed at 1600 revs and only return to 800 at a complete stop.

Not a huge issue apart from when I come to speedbumps, as it's causing the car to shoot forward when I change down and making me unintentionally hit the bottom of the car...

Any ideas??

Mine does this as well. I always assumed it was the ECU detecting the car is still moving and keeping the revs up a bit like automatic heel and toeing.

Ditto - I believe this is correct behavior for your Chim, mine also does it. Wouldn't surprise me if it was to ensure enough throttle to action the brake servo sufficiently at speed allowing you to stop - which is handy!

Not the stepper motor needing a clean-out then?
