Just fitted these new EBC 'spotties' to my 96 4.0 Chimaera. The drilled holes and grooves are only half way into the disc, you could almost call them countersunk. This is in an effort by EBC to help give the disc more strength and reduce them cracking. Part numbers if anyone is interested are discs - GD 216 and pads (green stuff) (DP2605/2).

I'll be very interested to know how you get on with them. Particularly if you have any problems with the dimples getting clogged with brake dust - a problem that drilled discs tend to suffer from.

Are these on the front?? Also what did they set you back if you don't mind me asking?

I've had these on my Chimaera for about a year now - done a few track days since then - dimples still seem pretty clear. Not had any problems with brake fade either, although on one occasion after a spirited drive along some country roads, I was pulled up at some lights & lots of black smoke started coming out of my bonnet vents. With visions of the car going up in smoke, I hurriedly pulled over to the side of the road & popped the bonnet & found it was just the brakes smoking

cheers,
Craig

I've had them on (the front) for a year or so - they seem to work well. Probably no better than Mintex pads on good std discs though. I changed to DOT 5.1 fluid from my old DOT 4, 4 year old fluid at the same time and this partly masked the differences.

Much less dust than other pads I have used. They appear to eat the disk instead! No problems with dust clogging the dimples that I've noticed, but then I'm not on the track as often as some. Bit more noise when braking, but I think you get that with all grooved discs.

I did 283 AP Front Rotor upgrade with Std Calipers and Mintex fast road front pads and std rear new disc's and pads at Reaven - Top job and braking definately better and put a bit more bias to front with bigger fronts and better (more agressive pads on the front).

Definately NO Hole or Grooves though
On a 500

I put EBC disks (dimpled and groved) and Green stuff pads on my 94 Chimaera. Did it myself. Cost me about £400 in total. And they even worked. They work even better now that they are bedded in!

Unfortunately just replaced disc (ford sierra) on my 95 Chim and put in Green stuff pads, they are good producing hardly any dust. The discs are approximately £12 each from any good motorfactor.

Ouch - that seems a bit pricey - these cost me £200 including fitting for disks & pads a year ago...

I bought mine from Peninsular (that whay I knew they'd probably fit). Around 180 pounds all in rings a bell.

Mine cost £33 for the pads and £115 for the discs (inc the Vodka). These were from a place called Amber Performance based in Luton - 01582 572500. They do lots of bits for the Ford RS range.. Delivery I assume would be extra, I picked mine up, as I'm only 3 junctions away up the M1..
