Help intermittent boot switch problem
Discussion
The boot switch on my Chim 450 (1999) is playing up. Sometimes it works fine, other times, it just refuses to open the boot. No noise from the actuator, and hence no boot open, but it is an intermittent problem.
Has anyone had this problem, and knows of a fix.
Could it be a dodgy relay, actuator, or just the cable sticking?
(Need to get the boot open to remove the Leven hood).
TIA
Dave

I eventually got in the boot via the switch last night, the button required a deft touch with a rubbing type motion of the middle finger (a bit like 'er indoors
) Noticing that the switch worked occasionally I took the switch out just in case it was that.
The switch was full of white powder (GRP dust from when the car was made or a novel way of smuggling drugs?) that was hindering its action. Once I blew all the dust out (about a teaspoon's worth) the switch operates perfectly and the boot opens every time.
So nice easy fix
