Each to their own but....

You wouldn't do that to a classic Aston.

Given the red car shown won best modified car at ROAR08, some folks like them! Julian are they purely cosmetic or do they give any proven aero advantage?

Apart from reducing the ground clearance at the nose valance even more, aerodynamically what are they supposed to do?? confused Create downforce? I don't see that happening but am happy to listen how!

I like them - always thought the chimaera could do with a splitter, maybe even a rear diffuser.

How much though?

Body coloured works. Black doesn't IMHO - but maybe that's just the colour of the car vs the colour of the splitter.

Do they have an aero benefit.

What ever gives you that idea?

PS about £30 from Halfords in the Ripspeed section.

PPS if you do fit them, the curve must match the curve of the corner from above or it will look like a Halfords drive-by job.

Are they cosmetic, or are they supposed to do something?

Well if nothing else, atleast I got you all talking.blablablablablabla
They cost £100.00 + Vat, which I didnt think was that bad "T-Pot".
As for aero,I couldnt say yet as they have only been fitted for a week. They are based on the Tuscan 2 winglets so I can only assume they work the same, but I'm just a fibreglasserdrunk so what do I know!!!!

I think the ones one the red chim look great - but then I'm only a girl so I suppose my opinion doesn't count. Wouldn't like to comment on the other car as you can only see the front and not the car in it's entirety.smile

So they could make the aerodynamics better/worse - to be established?

Looks wise, IMO it spoils (excuse the pun) the clean simple lines of the car and makes it look too fussy.
Not too sure how well they would get on with speed bumps/ferrys etc either.

I think that it would look better if the 2 bits were joined so that it was just one piece.

No lower than the original Lip splitter that is attached to the underneath of the car

They may well not be but the original splitter is mounted further back which will obviously make a difference to clearance issues when going down a ferry ramp for example.
