Hello all, as the title says I have just bought an MG ZS 180, with 70k miles. The belts have been done and a new clutch fitted. Its the saloon in X Power grey, red alcantara (incase you were wondering)!!

So far it seems like a good drive, and the mpg hasnt been as scary as I thought it might be!

Just have a few questions/queries to ask anyone who knows these cars.

Just how much of a 'kick' should there be at 3k rpm and 4.5k rpm, and what gear/speeds is it easiest to check if all is well with the VIS motors? (No noises from the inlet manifold)

It has oil in the intake pipe which eventually drips throgh the system. I have just got a catch tank but where is the best place to join it into the system?

What is the best (affordable) induction kit to fit that doesnt make too much of a noise, and what kind of effect do they really have on these cars both in terms of performance and mpg.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to any replies, or any other information anyone wants to share on these cars.

Thanks for the replies, I dont really feel a 'definite kick' so maybe the VIS is not working as it should at 3k rpm. Ill try unplugging and seeing if it makes any difference.

I have had a look at the websites suggested and they do seem full of useful info. I have also now fitted the catch tank although as I still have the original air filter etc, I couldnt fit it where suggested in the picture above.

I have taken some pictures so I will find out how to upload them onto here and get some up.
