Good Friday Spotted!

Hi there, had a strange 'spotted' experience last week..............
Good Friday, early afternoon we were heading back to London on the M1 and I saw what I am pretty certain was an XK180!!
It was a metallic mid-blue colour as opposed to the (metallic green?) car that the likes of Jeremy Clarkson reviewed. I thought this car was just a prototype, but am pretty certain thats what I saw?? It was heading Northbound on the M1 just before the Newport Pagnell junction.
It was the 'non-standard' windscreen shape that I first noticed, and also the fact that it appeared shorter than a standard XK. (I believe it was based on a shortened XK8 chassis). Also it sounded awesome, even louder than mine is now!
Are there companies making XK180 'replicas' to customer order?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
