The time has come to rebuild the front end of my 97 XK, I did the secondery tensioners two years ago, but I reckon the primary tensioner is on the way out....nasty metallic ticking sounds when cold :-(

My question is where should I look for good value parts, i.e. tensioner, chain, gaskets etc... When I did the secondery tensioners I just used my local Jag dealer.

Thanks,
Alastair

I don't know of any pattern parts.
Have to use a Jag agent or specialist.

If you changed them two years ago that would be the Mk2 version.
Jaguar are now on the Mk3, they are better, so they say!

I suggest that you contact SNG Barratts of Bridgenorth, Shropshire. They are the largest jaguar Parts suppliers in the country and are also Jaguar approved so they can source 'factory' bits as well. Their prices are usually competetive for an equivelent standard of product. They do not knowingly sub-standard items. I use them all the time for my cars and find them very good to deal with. Check out www.sngbarratt.com for inf.
