Jaguar to drop name from car

So Ian Callum says that in 2 years the Jaguar name will be dropped off the back of the cars and only the leaper will appear. But the new XF will carry both for the immediate future, is that because without the Jaguar name people may think it's a new Lexus? Or is that to allow 'TATA' to put their name on the back with the leaper?

One thing Jaguar hasn't got is time, the XF must hit the showroom with a wow factor to get non jag enthusiasts through the showroom doors with the intent to buy. The prototype promised and yes we all understand that legislation would water down the production vehicle but the watering down seems to have taken the wow factor away, interior yes a hit but the exterior does remind from the sides a GS Lexus, it may well sell in the states but in the UK the Jags main competition is the 3 germans A6 , e-class, 5 series has it the wow to move those buyers and without the name on the back does it have enough Jaguar DNA to say it's a jag, the XK both old and new DO but in a small sector they will stand out, the jaguar in the medium exec bracket may still need the name?
