Here's another!

Bloody great looking car - although aparently the body is inclined to give lift at high speed... Mind you most cars that look great to the eye are not so aerodynamically

Well-what can I say! Thanks PetrolTed for that report on this terrific car. As I have said elsewhere, we are open on Saturdays and this Saturday is a guest day for a JEC group - so why not join us at our premises in Ash Vale and see the car for yourselves. 300 bhp/ton is not a bad ratio, but I favour giving it a bit more ooomph. Maybe familiarity breeds contempt, but my (now sold) C-Type replica gave me more thrills per mile (...and my new C-Type, perfect in every detail, will be a mind-blower, but that`s another story. Watch this space until April/May when it arrives....)
Don`t get me wrong, though, this XJ13 replica is an outsanding piece....

Oh.... and a couple of other things: Yes the side mirror on the car is ghastly (& useless!) and something else will be put in its place.
As for the XKevocation link, treat this site with extreme caution & scepticism - it is completely without material foundation (don`t worry, I`ve done all my research). They no more build replicas than I build spaceships!(Nuff said.....!)

Just a quick note to say that Cosmic & I dropped in on Racing Green today and met Peter. We had an extremely warm welcome from him and the XJ-13 replica was indeed there and is every bit as gorgeous as I had hoped.

The Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club was in attendance and Peter publically announced my presence and that I was here because of PistonHeads (not representing PistonHeads or Ted or anything official, I hasten to add).

Peter also showed me the 1957 XK-SS (1 of only 16 built) that they are putting up for sale. Offers in the region of the same price as a McLaren F1.
And if your tastes are more modern and centred on TVR then they have the Cerbera Speed 12 Road Car in the showroom as well.

If you have not visited Racing Green and are close enough to do so then I'd thoroughly recommend a visit. They have an extensive stock of new and used TVRs (there was an example of every model from Chimaera onwards) and Jaguars (including several gorgeous E-types), plus an Aston DB4. It is as much a car museum / PetrolHead shrine as a car showroom and we came away feeling we'd had real treat seeing so many lovely cars.

So anyway, thanks once again to Peter for making us so welcome and spending so much time talking to us.

I have noticed that there is a new builder in the UK market place for Jaguar Replicas included in the range is the new the new Sports Car Factory XJ13 Replica, called Trevor Williams Racing Replicas www.twrreplicas.com.

Built in GRP this looks like the best value available but you can only buy part built or fully built cars. Also the same for D-type, C-type, and XKSS

Worth checking out

That had me going for a little while there.
At first I didn't notice that this was an old artical with a new posting.
Peter at Racing Green sold another replica XJ13 a couple of months ago, not sure if I'll forgive him :-) It was almost worth getting a mortgage and facing the inevitable divorse for. Beutiful doesn't begin to describe it. An artical in one of the Jaguar club magazines a couple of months ago alluded to there being a second real XJ13 engine somewhere. There was only one car made, but apparently there were two engines. So hopefully someone one day will produce a replica of the origenal car, with a real 500BHP engine.

The XKSS was still there, it's the first of the XKSS' the New York show car. They added a role cage to it last year for the Goodwood Revival, where it was raced. The other XKSS I've seen is in the Haynes Museum, their's is of course RED. I thinks the BRG one looks better.

On the subject of new companies making replicas, one of the Jaguar club magazines, JEC I think. Had one the cover last month, a lovely looking alloy C-Type replica.

The Article said:
The V12 is a marvelous unit, with torque seemingly available in endless amounts from low revs right to the red line 400 RPM later.

Only kidding. Gorgeous thing. Would love one of those/the ARA Racing Aston replica.

Hi I can see that this posting goes back a long way. If any one is serious at building an XJ13 then please contact me as I can put you in contact with the moulds and chassis build etc. You may be able to build one for a fraction of the cost. All the very best.
