Ok thanks, I thought I read that <100 miles is transporter, above that driver but I may be mistaken. I would rather get the train down to the dealer and pick it up I think than have a retired plod fart and drop donut crumbs in it ??.

In seriousness I assume they discount the delivery mileage from the allowance if its driven?
Yes, your allocated/chosen mileage allowance starts when the vehicle is delivered to your address (if driven).

I do have some concerns about the potential state of the car upon arrival, have heard horror stories, so I will be going over the car with a fine tooth comb when delivered and if not satisfied I will be contacting supplier/lease-provider to arrange a new-vehicle detail at their expense, no exceptions.

Can I assume SiQS, JohnStitch and Alex you all have orders through VW direct and not lease ?

Out of interest, what percentage of Rs sold are 3 door? Anyone know?
I'd be interested to know too, suspect it will be quite a lot percentage. Golfs in general sell in much greater numbers with 5-doors.

Who is it through, when did you place your order and how did you manage to get hold of your order and SLI numbers; were these provided to you by the lease-provider ?

Cheers

If I go through the VW website and track my progress, it tells me the build is in progress. However I also registered on the website and added the order to 'My Cars' in which it still says the order is confirmed. So I'm getting conflicting information from the same website! Thought this site was supposed to send me text messages when the progress changes, but I've never had one of those either, even though I registered for them...

Central UK Vehicle Leasing. I placed the order in July. They sent me the order number as soon as the order was confirmed.

Yes, your allocated/chosen mileage allowance starts when the vehicle is delivered to your address (if driven).
If leased via VWFS then your delivery mileage is taken out of your allowance.

Not what I shave been informed by lease provider, however, I don't believe it's VWGFS that are the finder of my deal and my car is being delivered by transporter in any case.

Mine was ordered first week of July and is in transit (and has been for 7-10days) according to the VW tracker
Is your an order from a dealer or lease ? As I mentioned, it would appear that orders direct from a dealer are being progressed far quicker than lease vehicles; for example my car was ordered the week after you and as mentioned originally wasn't meant to be built until w/c 05/09 and has now been put back to w/c 03/10. Delivery will then be 3-4 weeks after that so into November earliest and that's assuming no further delays.
Yeah via VW Bedford rather than a seperate lease co.

Intrigued on the delivery question above, whats the cost to have it delivered on a transporter? Call me fussy but I want to be the first person to drive it for any distance ??
I went through this with Vindis and to deliver mine by transporter (just over 100 miles) it was about £180 from memory. I'm still in two minds...

Not sure how relevant this is but I thought I'd put it just incase!

I had a normal Golf (Match Edition DSG) with a build week of 34 (22/08/2016). Have just been told that despite the order tracker still showing that it is being built, it is actually at the port in Emden.

Back when I got my Golf the tracker would only update on Tuesday mornings IIRC so the tracker wasn't always displaying the latest info.

Mine is through VW Bedford on a lease.

Ordered early July, build week confirmed as 29/8, changed to Build In Progress yesterday but VW live chat still saying it's delayed and no build week has been allocated.

So much conflicting information.

Has anyone had any updates from the dealer after going to Build In Progress?

I ordered through Vindis Cambridge, July 11th. Build week 33 (15th August) car is now in the UK so I guess a couple of weeks off being on my drive.

Shona at Vindis has been spot on and I have been kept up to date. Anyone would think I was actually paying £32k for the thing.

Do you have a timeline of events?

I was BW 35 so I would be expecting to be a couple of weeks after you, but not sure if the car has even been built!!
