Definitely an improvement, think I'll try unplugging the valves as a first step this week.
Might be better to not to thrash it round a 30mph residential area when testing it out.
Yes does sound better, still quite subtle though. BTW as above, lucky the driver never got a speeding ticket!Might be better to not to thrash it round a 30mph residential area when testing it out.
Here's a new trick for the S5........................
I have an Amazon Alexa Echo at home which works very well for streaming music, weather updates, and usual questions etc.
So I had this bright idea of using an Amazon Echo Dot in the car as it has a 3.5 output jack, USB power, and is quite small.
Connected the Echo Dot to the 12v USB for power, then connected it to the car WiFi (I have a 3 unlimited data SIM in the MMI) using my iPhone. Then I connected a 3.5 jack from the Dot to the aux input, and hey presto!! I now have full Alexa voice functionality whilst driving, and voice access to all Spoyify's millions of songs by just asking to play a song. Sound is excellent quality too.
All is hidden in the armrest storage area out of sight, and takes up little room.
Best bit is it only cost £49.00!

Sportback owners - does your passenger seatbelt knock against the side of the front seat when not being used? 3 days in and it's really irritating!
I think most SB people have this issue. A solution is to use one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/1423210-Car-Seat-Belt-Adj... then cut a strip of Velcro, stick on side to the clip, and the other to the pillar to fasten it, and slide the belt into it when not used.TomScrut said:
Likewise. How is the high level light on yours? It will have to have one.
You mean you don't have the thin led brake light strip at the top of the rear window??{edit} It could be you do have it but never noticed as it is so thin??

Ok so my car does have high level brake light
I was expecting to so it reflect into / onto my boot, so i thought i should be able to see the brake lights. I had to get my son to press the brakes with ignition on and i was behind the car
My car did decide yesterday to not allow me to turn the volume up past 10% or so. It kept prompting "Unavailable" when trying to adjust volume. It only resolved itself after leaving the ignition off overnight; leaving it for an hour or so didnt fix it
On another note, an Audi S5 SB is way slower than Tesla i got well and truly humped by a Model S P75 last night (I knew i would but wasnt expecting to be so far away....) need a chip...
Those Tesla's are mad off the line....would not even attempt a race. You think the P75 is quick, then the P100 is madness. A chip may save a little face, but still no chance.I was expecting to so it reflect into / onto my boot, so i thought i should be able to see the brake lights. This happens when the phone is connected and not disconnected properly & has happened to me. The reason being that the volume is multifunctional for phone/nav/audio whichever is activated, so if the phone is not disconnected properly (a MMI glitch) the volume says "unavailable" to the nav/audio functions thinking the phone is still in use.[EDIT] To save waiting an hour or so like you did, make a call and then disconnect again. Audi need to fix this problem.

You should of just kept racing and he would of soon ran out of charge meaning you sail past.
I see a lot of comments about these Tesla’s and how fast they get off the line and can beat nigh on anything etc what doesn’t get mentioned is how dull going to 60 that quick in silence is and that do it a few times and your charge takes a serious hit.

My father in law just got a P85 - not a P100 I know but not far off. Can confirm they are very quick and the fact you get instant full power is cool but having driven it and done the launch etc it's all very......boring. Some may disagree but I would much rather take a slightly slower car with a V8 and some noise and excitement for the same money.
Also the fact you have a silent power train highlights tyre rumble and any squeaks and creaks in the cabin.

Basically I dont get all the fuss with Tesla's. Rant over!
On another note, do you sense that the car is actually faster than it feels??....so many people comment that it feels like you are doing 60mph when you have actually accelerated to 100mph (I have my speedo set to 'ping' at 100mph) which prompts the comment..

How is everyone getting on with the TDI tuning box?
Any gone DTUK?
Ive not heard anything more yet on the Burger Motorsport solution but assume it will be something similar to the JB1 JB4 they have for VW and BMW
My TDI box is still working perfectly....done 6.5k miles with it so far.Any gone DTUK?

So got an update on my S5 SB. Radiator controller has gone on it. They are on back order so I'm gonna have the Q7 for at least a week.
Whats your thoughts on the Q7? Frankstar123 said:

Whats your thoughts on the Q7? I really do struggle to park it without blocking in the car next to me. Also i dont know if its because its got 40K miles on it or not but the auto box requires quite a lot of RPM to begin pulling the car forward. So when you're parking in said tight spaces and only have a foot before the barrier its a bit worrying having to go to ~2000rpm+ to move the thing. Heads up display is pretty cool though. Personally I like the Range Rover Sport.
So my car is still in the garage, they've fixed it but my MMI application is still showing a vsr_null error on the list of Warning messages. So audi are still checking this out. Whilst averaging 12mpg everytime they take the car out.....
Fingers crossed, no issues at all with my S5 so far (apart from always filling it up) . Done nearly 7k.

Just on the off chance. Has anyone had issues with windows not dropping when you close the doors? Had it on both front doors at the same time. Tonight had it on drivers door. Door closes but window is bent outwards.
Concern is if you don’t see it. Rain gets in. Car is also easier to nick. Not being funny but this is not a cheap car. This seems a bit naff given my wife’s 2 year old TT NEVER did this once.
Ignore my other post about the app on iPhone. Deleted and reinstalled now works fine.
I guess I need to ring Audi but just wondered if anyone else had it. Owned it a few months. Starting to get a little worried about quality control.
Yes it has happened to a few of us. Don't know why, and does fix itself somehow. I recon it's an MMI glitch that needs sorting.Concern is if you don’t see it. Rain gets in. Thanks for that.
It’s not good is it? Given the marque. The noise about quality control and the cost of the thing.
I had a Touareg before this. Ten grand less. No issues. BMW before that. No issues. Cheaper car.
The S5 is nice. But quality is not a word I’d associate with it now. Which is a shame given how long I’ve had it. Hopefully it’ll improve. I’m starting to worry it will get worse. I now walk around it every time I park it to make sure the windows aren’t out of place. It’s embarrassing when people are with you and ask why. Next time I guess I need to take a pic. In case dealer gets funny.
It's not about the build quality which certainly surpasses VW & BMW, the issue is a just a minor software glitch which needs updating. Even Microsoft has these problems, and as the MMI programming is so complex it is not immune either. That said it is disappointing I know and would probably be updated during the next service. It’s not good is it? Given the marque. The noise about quality control and the cost of the thing.

Thanks all .... hopefully it'll rectify itself or they fix it.
Oh and yes Microsoft also have problems but to be honest a lot of that is due to poor code and poor Design/QA/Testing ;-) They really, really are not a good example to use (no software vendor is to be honest) if it ran Windows I wouldn't be driving it (probably wouldn't be able to unlock it and the VC would say VC is installing updates .. please wait .. and wait .. and wait .. ).
I'm sure Audi are better than BMW and VW but so far experience wise .. VW - 3 years ownership - no issues at all. BMW - 3 years ownership - no issues at all. In fact thinking back the only car I ever had with window issues was a Jeep and that was simply the window just fell inside the door (bit alarming on a motorway) pulled into a Jeep garage and they fixed it on the sport as they had the part.
Maybe over the years I've just been very, very lucky. Now not so much.
Well I suppose we are lucky not to have Microsoft running the MMI otherwise you would see something like this on selecting any function.......Oh and yes Microsoft also have problems but to be honest a lot of that is due to poor code and poor Design/QA/Testing ;-) They really, really are not a good example to use (no software vendor is to be honest) if it ran Windows I wouldn't be driving it (probably wouldn't be able to unlock it and the VC would say VC is installing updates .. please wait .. and wait .. and wait .. ).
