I've just answered my own question. It definitely says on the government DVLA website that the tax increase is on cars "registered" on or after 1st April.
So I think I'm right in saying that as soon as a numberplate has been assigned that we basically mean the car has been registered - it may not have been delivered, or tax, but it would have been registered and therefore also then got to assume that that means it will avoid the increase.

ordered 28th oct as well. But Audi tracker is showing Nov 2Stop press tracker updated at 2:04 we have movement at last.
Shows you what I know
. I can't see any boat enroute to Kent unless the tracker is laggy but then Audi chat confirmed that no slot was evident either - perhaps she's already here.
Still not complaining

They update it when it goes in the boat rather than when it sets off I think. Mine was the same with Weser Highway, it was sat at Emden for a while the day the tracker changed before it actually set off.Shows you what I know
