Me and a mate are also both in the same situation, waiting on slots, however he wants it ASAP and I don't want it till September, so will be interesting to see who gets priority.
One forum has said its a four month wait at the minute - don't really want to wait that long if I can help it. Considering I have no options and just white paint hopefully it will come through quicker.gazza5 said:

I've had an update saying they expect to build my car w/c 22/5, but again it's not 100% confirmed...I'm not too worried really, as I own my current car and it owes me nothing, so it's nearly free driving until the Golf is delivered.

I probably should of just gone for it - but at the moment the missus only knows I have a golf estate!
I have had confirmation by order is secured per email below on wednesday.
You have been Approved on finance. I have everything I require from you. The car has been secured.
Once the car has been put into our stock from Volkswagen we will send a tracking number for you to track the build progress of the car.
I have had exactly the same response from my VW dealer, the car is secured/reserved etc. I've chased today as this normally takes 24 hours and that was up yesterday. Need mine in June as current steed (GTD) goes back on the 18th.I have had confirmation by order is secured per email below on wednesday.

Be sad to see my astra go (probably we buy any car it) but with all this diesel stuff - and the fact I changed jobs and do about 7k a year now diesel is not worth while. Plus I have wanted a automatic since 2012 when we drove around california!I'm not too worried really, as I own my current car and it owes me nothing, so it's nearly free driving until the Golf is delivered.

Big 7 year service due next year on my astra and needs new tyres (4 new ones at 150 a pop) decided to take the plunge
I ordered mine through Breeze VW - If I haven't heard anything Monday I will give them a call.
I know they were swamped with the GTI deals - the R doesn't seem to have sold out yet - but I guess the hatchback is what most want.
I have never had a fast estate so thought I would give it a go

I got an order number the day I signed paperwork. Plain white R estate, no options via Windrush VW. £7422 all in on a 6x23 8k p/a
Expected delivery in early June.
I'm on a very similar deal. I've just had my order number come through and upon logging into the "Track my Order" website it shows "With the factory". I'm guessing this is heading for a similar June delivery.Expected delivery in early June.

Just ordered a grey estate, 3+23 at £304 for 10k miles - only option was metallic paint as I don't like white cars.
Delivery end of May.
Who was this through? The grey's a great choice.Delivery end of May.
Didn't want white and was offered black or grey for delivery soonish, or choose a colour and take my chances. Chose grey, suits the understated styling.
Why is the Estate R that cheap (£282, 23+6) and the hatchback is £450 (I didn´t search a lot).
Do you think the Estate R will increase the price after the summer?? Honestly, I need it from October, but if the price will rise that much I will not wait.
What is the average price for the Estate R without rare offers?
Thank you so much

It's largely all down to manufacturer (or financer) support for a limited number of cars, and once they're all allocated then the price will rise. I think all the deals have gone now. If you want an estate for October then there's a fair chance similar deals will appear early July from VWFS. It happened last year anyway. Keep checking this forum, and the main PH lease deals one.
If you average payments over the term, then just over £300 a month is the new baseline for the R estate (edit - on 8k mpa). I'm on a £1500 down, and £215 a month (24 months 10k miles per annum) from last year and would have jumped on these recent deals if I needed to.
