I don't understand why they only offer the brightest colours on the cooking models, and the turbo-nutter-bd version comes in eight shades of grey.

I'm sure dynamic grey is lovely, but I had to setle for grey on my Exige, when I really wanted orange or green, and I didn't want two grey cars on the drive. went for the brightest colour in the palette for the Cupra - Alors blue IMHO.
Agreed. Very disappointed in VAG's hot hatch colour palette.

Out of interest what colour would everyone choose on your Cupra/Black if you could have any?

Renault Flame Red gets my vote - love that colour!

Grey. But a different grey from any of the greys they already offer.

LOL. I like the bright green of the Focus RS.

The black includes the Sub8 pack? Or do you mean you need to have the sub8 pack and then it's an additional option?

What tyres does it come with if it's not Cup 2 tyres?

I think I read somewhere that they now come with Continentals which work really well apparently.

Confirmation that orders close on Thursday - the following has come direct from a large SEAT dealer:

SE0831-16
Ordering for model year 2016 (MY16) versions of the Leon CUPRA 5dr and ST derivatives will close on Thursday 15 September. Please place all outstanding customer-tagged orders by 15 September to guarantee a build slot. It will not be possible to order after this date.
MY17 ordering is due to open at the later this year; we’ll publish more information on Desktop when available.
All other MY16 Leon 5dr and ST derivatives continue unchanged. Leon SC CUPRA was closed earlier this summer.

Got an update from SEAT Stockport. I guess a few of us will have received this same email. It also confirms that the order book closes on the 5 door 290 Black tomorrow.

Downside is that I'm still at Status Code 00! Grrrr....

Hi Everyone,

Sorry again for another generic email, however there are a fair few of you that this update applies to.

I have rang SEAT Dealer Support today as even I’m getting a little frustrated now with not receiving any updates on my ‘Status 00’ orders.

I have been advised that no updates are currently being given due to the latest bulletin from SEAT about the cease of production of the 5dr & ST CUPRA 290 BLACK, which was released on Friday 9th September.

For those of you who may be unaware of this, below is the bulletin from SEAT:

MY16 LEON CUPRA 5DR AND ST TO BE REMOVED FROM ORDERING

09 September 2016
Place all outstanding customer-tagged orders by 15 September and see how this affects Leon PCP and contract hire campaigns

I have been advised that your orders have definitely been accepted and are going to be built! So please don’t worry smile

SEAT Dealer Support attended a conference yesterday and asked the question to why no updates are being given, and the above was SEAT’s response (regarding the cease of production).

Once cease of further production has happened, SEAT have advised that they are going to gather all remaining customer orders and prioritise these orders with build weeks.

SEAT Dealer Support has advised me that I should start to receive updates as of next week (w/c 19th September), however I have been advised that if I do not have any updates beginning of next week then to call them again and they will chase up what is going on with each of my orders.

Thank you all for being so patient smile I really appreciate it.

I understand how frustrating it is not to have any further information regarding your orders; hopefully I’ll receive some good news for you all in the very near future.

Thanks, C.

Hi Guys,

Just ordered a Cupra 290 Black on the 1+23 deal 10k £249 but hearing that there is actually a deposit contribution to pay on it (partially funded by the dealer). Has anyone else been told this after they signed up? Certainly wasn't any mention of it when I took the deal out. Bit confused as to whether my VWFS paperwork is going to turn up looking like a 3+23 now.

I ordered directly with Seat Peterborough.

Cheers

I'm in the exact same situation with an R going back in April. I ordered a cupra with delivery set for December although I may just take it in November.

1. Yes. Facelift is coming. No confirmed details yet but supposedly orders open Friday so the current deal ends Thursday.

2. I'd be amazed if the price didn't go up considerably. Prior to the current deal the cupra was always quite pricey on lease.

3. As mentioned I'm making the change. Ive only had 1 1 hour test drive of a cupra and it's very similar to the golf. Slight lower quality feel to the interior, felt a bit less refined and a bit more raw. It did feel a bit more agile and slightly more fun. The golf is almost too capable at times.
Cheers buddy. S3 PCHs are looking good as welll

At least you've had an update. CVL are pathetic at providing updates and responding to emails. I'm getting slightly annoyed as you may be able to tell.

Hiya, I am in a similar situation in that I only found out the true initial rental is different to the expected when I got the order form through but it is nothing to worry about, the contribution is paid prior to your initial rental being taken so for a few days you have your new car and also a slightly bigger bank balance!

Thanks fella. Did you get the dealer to confirm this in writing after you found out or was it all on the paperwork anyway?

Hi both,

To hopefully put your mind at ease, this is what I understand it to be:

The initial rental of £1,173.65 is made up of £249.00 from me, £924.65 from Lookers (as I've dealt with Lookers SEAT).

The Initial Rental of £1,173.65 would be paid by Direct Debit to VWFS (Finance company) and would leave my account 2 weeks after delivery date of me receiving the Cupra.

On the day of delivery, Lookers would send a payment request for the sum of £924.65 (so the total initial rental, minus my 1st payment of £249) to their Head Office for them to process, which would then take 3-5 working days for the funds to hit my account, so the cashback from Lookers would be in my account way before the Initial Rental direct debit was taken.

Hopefully that makes sense?

They are able to do these deals as the Dealer is paying for the majority of the initial rental - something which brokers, i guess, struggle to do.

Thanks, C.

They get this back and some due to the massive volume bonuses they will be getting from SEAT UK.

Oh. Bugger. I've just had a Cupra ST delivered to me as a demo for a few days. It was only registered last week (showing 100 miles on the clock). Obviously this is a MY16. What will the MY17 be like? Is it just a mild face lift or will there be no change? Looking at the SEAT website, it seems you'll be able to get the Sub 8 pack as a no cost option (according to the 'configurator'). Maybe they're 'speccing' them up before a new model.

On another note. I've only done about 40 miles in the Cupra today. Mostly in Cupra mode and first impressions are that the artificial noises (they are artificial aren't they?) could get very annoying very quickly nono It's bloody thirsty yikes Looks great (I've got the ST) thumbup Cubby hole storage is not brilliant. Handles well but the TC is working overtime. More thoughts after a few more miles.

I've had it set in Individual mode with everything set to Cupra apart from the last thing on the list - can't remember what it was which means it probably wasn't very interesting. What are the preferences of others?

I had a quick test drive yesterday and ordered an ST Black in Ice Silver from Lookers. The car is quick but a bit cheap inside. Bargain for £260 a month on 1+23 for the level of performance and standard kit(IMG didn't get back to me and I didn't have time to chase up). I was all set to order Alor blue but they had an Ibiza in the colour outside and i decided it's a bit bright and electric blue for my liking in comparison to the Estoril blue BMW I have at the moment.
