CVL informed me that the 5k starts from handover and miles accrued from delivery are not counted.

Mines also now in transit!

I know, bit of a joke. Unfortunately I only asked this question after placing the order and the deals had gone so couldn't move to another provider. I asked for a flatbed but they wanted several hundred pounds. To be honest the whole process with this particular dealer has been a bit of a joke - it's a VW main dealer but not my local as this particular dealer was advertising online - I didn't realise the deals were on nationally. Oh well, I'm still really excited to get the car.

Not long to go now for some it sounds.

My mind has been taken off mine for now as the wife is getting me to sort her new lease out. Keeping my fingers crossed for a Xmas delivery for the GTi but probably more likely to be the new year.

Mine has a build week of this week (14/11) but when I log onto the tracker its still at "Build week confirmed". Anyone else got this?

I had the same until today - jumped straight from stage 3 to 5.

Well no it isn't - each deal is different so you need to check with them directly. When I was taking my deal out they were in the middle of changing the excess mileage charges, so everyone seems to have got a different deal.

Well yes it is. I'm obviously not expecting anyone here to change my deal for me or give me a definitive answer but its good to know others past experience.

Thanks for suggesting a call to the broker though, it wasn't on my list of things to do.

So for someone it costs very little.....for others it might cost a lot. Doesn't really help you personally until you know what they will offer YOU!

Mine is the same, I think someone said on here that the actual build takes 2 days or so? If so maybe it will change on the tracker today...

I'd be surprised if VWFS will openly admit to the half price excess mileage deal they've offered in the past mid-contract, but as I said in my post a number of people on here have been offered it this year.

Just had a little look at what prices people are putting the GTi's out at, couldn't see any 5k prices but on 8k a year NVC want £352 with 2k up front over 24 months, assuming it's a pre-facelift model. Madness.

Mine still stuck on Build Week Confirmed, spoke to live chat and was told the build can take up to two weeks! Doesn't sound right to me.

Stage 5 for mine too. Anyone have any ideas how long the "In transit" stage is likely to take? Like everyone else, am hoping for an early Xmas present!

The portal says for your model it typically takes 10 days from this stage to reach the dealer.... this has changed since earlier in the week as it was saying 4 weeks.

I wonder if there are sub stages in the tracker that aren't visible which drive the timeline estimate.

Had the paperwork through from VWFS yesterday. Car is due to be registered 1st December so getting rather excited now!

Lucky buggers! If it says 10 days then its already on a ship or in the UK!!!
The longest part is often when waiting for a ship in Emden.

A lot of the cars are "in transit" but stuck in the docks as xmas is the busiest period
