There is no convertible MK7 R... there is the MK6 R Convertible which they still sell.

Gone from a provisional build week 39, to 41, back down to 39 and now up to 43. VW also advised that a 6 week delivery time from the provisional build week, could end up getting the car in December after having ordered it beginning of July.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Ordered June 20, build week 40 (at the moment) but these seem very rough estimates and liable to change. If all goes according to the current dates, that means build at the end of September, delivery c 4 weeks later, I believe.

It is rather frustrating and it does seem to be a l-o-n-g lead-time but whaddyagunnadoo? :/

It's generally 5 weeks after the build week

ordered 17th July - still showing as stage 2 on the tracker but dealer has said 2 weeks either side of the end of september.

I think that's a little optimistic given the other lead-times on here, but as long as it's here before december i don't really mind.

I haven't heard from him so could be true. Will have to ring dealer direct and ask them.

Phils on holiday for a couple of weeks so you won't be able to get him. I think he's back last week of August.

i returned off holiday today expecting to have some paperwork to complete, but haven't received anything. Tried ringing Phil but it went straight to voice-mail, so rang the sales department and he has gone! I got the impression from the person i spoke to that he had been asked to leave rather than left of his own consent, as they said they didn't have everyone's information, as he still had him laptop! Is their another twist in the story still?!?

TBH I'm pretty sick of the whole saga now and aren't even looking forward to getting the car because I'm not confident that the deal even exists! The person told me that my car is on order, but for me 'seeing is believing'.

You couldn't write this sh@t if you tried!! No doubt more uncertainty will ensue, VW Cheltenham could be stuck with a shed load of R's if the Arval deals turn out to be dodgey.

My car was build week 31 (last week of July) but is still on stage 4 today! The person I spoke to today said that the factory had 'skeleton staff', so I should get the car 4 weeks today, however my friend has also ordered one and he got told that is car has been pushed back 4 weeks (end of October). They gave the reason that Phil had been lying about build dates to the manager or summat?!? All sounds dodgy to me!

I've had my Arval paperwork and is all signed by them and myself. I also phoned VW customer services and asked them the status of my order even though i know the tracking number. They also said that the car was order with Arval, so hopefully this helps others who are unsure.
