The Cupra (Black) Lease thread

I had a quick test drive yesterday and ordered an ST Black in Ice Silver from Lookers. The car is quick but a bit cheap inside. Bargain for £260 a month on 1+23 for the level of performance and standard kit(IMG didn't get back to me and I didn't have time to chase up). I was all set to order Alor blue but they had an Ibiza in the colour outside and i decided it's a bit bright and electric blue for my liking in comparison to the Estoril blue BMW I have at the moment.
Which Lookers mate? 10k?Can't make my mind up to go for this or not.

At least you've had an update. CVL are pathetic at providing updates and responding to emails. I'm getting slightly annoyed as you may be able to tell.
Took several phone calls from me to the admin dept to get a build date from CVL - mine has apparently been confirmed as week 41. (10th Oct) - slightly frustrating considering others who ordered around the same time are week 37 but hey ho.With regards to making your mind up Gambler, I would say this Cupra deal is in the top 5 of best car lease deals within the past 2 years...and I'm the kind of guy who likes to keep up to date with car lease deals.
Best deal ever has to be the Passat Alltrack - a £30k+ car that was available to lease for about £3.8k over 2 years (10k pa). Best car lease bargain EVER.
Second best was the 206 gti - £20k+ car, 18 month lease for £3k (10k pa). This and the Passat deals were misprices that Peugeot and VW decided to honour.
Third best is this Cupra deal. £30k+ car, 2 year lease for £6k (10k pa). Also includes metallic paint which is a bonus.
4th best was the Golf R hatch deal from Sept/Oct 14 - £30k car, 2 year lease for £6.5k (10k pa). Reason why I think this is behind the Cupra deal is that the Golf didn't include metallic paint (cost option which bumped the deal up by £500) and it didn't have a lot of the kit (at that time) that the Cupra has now (aswell as the current Golf). For example, no DCC, no heated partial leather seats, no sat nav, smaller alloys, no apple car play/mirror link, etc.
5th best was the audi s8. About £12k over 2 years. What a car for the money. Sadly wasn't for me at the time, maybe in 10 years...
All above are based on personal leases and is of course, just my opinion.
But I genuinely do think this Cupra deal is well and truly up there.

When did you order mate? I had unconfirmed build week of 37 and ordered with CVL on 11th July. I know no amount of chasing them is going to speed up the process but I just want an update.nutterburger said:

My order went in on the 6th Jul.. but even with me chasing them almost daily (see the first couple pages of this thread) i didn't get any proper confirmation or the admin fee taken until 22nd Jul.I emailed CVL at the end of Aug asking for an update, they did say they would contact the dealer but had no reply after..
When i called at the beginning of this week they said the last update on my acc was unconfirmed build week 33 (which i thought too good to be true)
I called again yesterday and spoke to Craig in admin who said the dealer had confirmed build week 41, with 3-4 weeks to the dealer after that.
They also said i would get the rest of the paperwork 3-4 weeks before the delivery date and weekly updates at that point.

Great post, I've been trying to convince myself that I'd grabbed a bargain, and I am cheered to see someone on the internet agreeing with me Best deal ever has to be the Passat Alltrack - a £30k+ car that was available to lease for about £3.8k over 2 years (10k pa). Best car lease bargain EVER.

Has anyone read the EVO review/grouptest of the 290? I haven't picked up a copy yet, but I would imagine they rave about the sub-8 package etc, which I didn't fancy paying out for on a lease car.

Is that a new or old review? Has anyone read the EVO review/grouptest of the 290? I haven't picked up a copy yet, but I would imagine they rave about the sub-8 package etc, which I didn't fancy paying out for on a lease car.
I thought I've seen/read all reviews on the 290 but don't recall that one, certainly as it's a magazine I uses to subscribe to.
Thanks, C.

There is a group test in the latest issue - it is described as "comfortably the most broadly capable car here" but without the 10/10 excitement of the Focus RS or the GTI Clubsport S.I thought I've seen/read all reviews on the 290 but don't recall that one, certainly as it's a magazine I uses to subscribe to.

Interestingly they say the diff works much better on the Golf than the Leon.
They gave it 4.5 stars.

I'm guessing that's just in their heads. All VAG parts will be the same.Interestingly they say the diff works much better on the Golf than the Leon.

Do you know what economy (or otherwise!) you are getting from it? Is it manual or dsg?
Averaged 20mpg according to the computer on a 40 mile local drive. Just driven from Cambridge to York (A14 & A1 mostly) and up to approx 30mpg which is better. Still with everthing set in Cupra mode and using the paddles (it's a DSG).Do you know what economy (or otherwise!) you are getting from it? Is it manual or dsg?
If you are horsing it around on a 3 day trial where foot is to the floor everywhere then mpg will be in the teens and low 20's.
Once you are settled down with the speed.....you will average 35mpg.
most golf r's that ive seen avg about 30mpg and thats with added weight n drag of the 4wd
