Mine will stick out then - it's in white tongue out (probably one of just a few!)

Mine arrived at 8:30 this morning. Delivered from Swansway (Crewe) to my work. Only had a quick drive (dropped the delivery lady back at the station a few miles away). A very different drive to the Golf R but I really like it. Very pleased with the whole order and delivery process, but more importantly, the price!

I believe the cars value is circa 35K. What amount of GAP cover would you guys take out for the 2 year lease?

Mine has landed in the UK this morning according to an email I received earlier. Seems to be moving quicker than I expected. Just need to sell my current car now, with little joy so far! I can afford to keep them both for a little while if needs be but I'd rather not.

Interested to also hear about the GAP valuations, I think I'll use ALA. a rough quote I got the other day was £106.00 for two years which seems good to me.

How much extra was white?

Anyone else choose a different colour? I didn't have time to even think or ask about another colour as I knew the deal wasn't going to stick around.

Anyone spec any other options?

Oh, and has anyone found a way to get the car net app connect activated? Preferably not by having to pay the dealer £250 for what was a £125 option. Once again I didn't even have time to look at the spec online, I just knew it had the essentials and pushed the button.

With white and 10,000 miles pa I'm at £166 ish on a 3 + 23. Mind you, I'm still going to be doing over 30,000 miles in two years so will need to contact VW at some point to renegotiate the excess charge. Not the best or worst deal but I was fortunate to get it while the deal was still open through NVS who have been very helpful.

My local dealer has quoted £215 Inc VAT today. They said it will take 20 minutes. I've heard that some cars come with it installed even if not specced so I'll wait and see if that is the case before booking it. Either way it seems worth it to be able to use Google maps etc.

I'd much rather they lied and said it took 5 hour. £215 to activate something that is already there is painful. My whole Apple CarPlay Pioneer Appradio4 headunit that now lives in my wife's car was only £300.....

I do have vcds and an old odbc cable. Not sure if it is up to date enough. I last used it on my Mk1 TT 2 years ago.

I will have a Google....

I've read the manual, but still not 100% sure what car-net actually gives. I can download some apps, but that feels quite inconsequential to me, since my phone has all that.
Have I missed something?

I thought it allowed you to project your phone screen on to the screen in the car so you could use your Google maps and Spotify etc. Also with that it would have live traffic updates etc. I may have misunderstood it though.

There is Car Net, that comes as standard, and the Car Net App Connect that was a £125 option and allows Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink which are technologies that allow compatible phone apps to be mirrored on the screen and you can make calls and send text hands free using Siri or Google's equivalent.

Info here: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/technology/car-net

These are the options I selected on top of the basic spec, including the Car-Net App-Connect so hopefully it will come already enabled:

Dynamic Chassis Control
Luggage compartment divider
XDS Electronic differential
Smoking pack
Car-Net App-Connect
230V socket
Front and rear mudflaps (dealer fit option)

I elected to pay for all the options upfront to keep the monthlies the same. I missed the initial crazy deal by about a week but at least I had time to chose some desirable options. The significant cost to upgrade from the Urano Grey just wasn't worth it IMHO. So, by missing out on the initial crazy deals, I'm paying £245 a month including VAT on a 3 + 24 month deal @ 10,000 miles per annum, but at least I have chosen a couple of options that might make the drive more enjoyable for me. It's still a tremendous bargain after all is said and done. Delivery sometime in July. Enjoy your cars all of you who already have them. It should be a very comfortable and interesting and relatively inexpensive place to be for the next two years.

128inc vat on a 3+23 for 8k miles a year. I think the NVS fee was 240. So amortised at £148 a month.

My no option, grey Alltrack was a few pence short of £130 on a 3+23 direct from uchoose, but I only get 5000 miles. No admin fee. Excess is standard 7.2ppm - all inc VAT.
