This evening's chance find is that the boot floor has too positions - when mine was delivered it was in the heightest position, I was convinced it had shrunk compared to the mK5. Now in the lower position the boot looks a respectable size.

So jealous hearing all you guys playing with all the toys of yours... Dealer has confirmed that mine won't be delivered until the new year...

I had a good test drive a few weeks before ordering mine, though, and I remember it feeling very nimble and fun - I didn't notice/realise it had piped noise (silly). Lots of grip and nice steering feel was what I do remember.

My deal on a standard 5Dr Golf GTi in white:

£755.02 initial rental (after dealer contribution)
£216.59 x 23 (£4981.57)
TOTAL = £5736.59 = £239.02 a month amortised

on 10k a year mileage with a 10.8p per mile excess.

All prices include VAT

Delivery by end of year.

Likewise, wanted to just get into the car as cheap as possible, hence the bog standard spec but really wish it was a darker colour.

Similarly, my first foray into leasing so hope it goes well.

Now need to look into GAP insurance.
Dealer contribution? Was this with a leasing company or a main dealer?

Good shout. I knew there was a spare wheel underneath but didn't realise you could adjust the floor to increase the boot space.

My find today was changing the digital gauges on the media player screen. Have now got oil temp, boost and G meter. Also this is probably me not reading the spec properly again but does the media system come with gesture control?? Whenever I go to touch the touchscreen the screen changes likes it's preparing to change function. I'm assuming the bar under the head unit is some sort of sensor for it?

Had a call from the agent - they are now telling me the delivery driven miles come of my 5000 PA allowance. I was told otherwise on the phone (was told it would be delivered on a transporter) - is this basically tough luck if I have nothing that says this in writing? Or is it worth talking to the dealer/VW Finance?

I think If previous issues are to go by then I'd fight to get this sorted.

I am not sure who to fight, there are so many parties involved. The leasing agent, VW finance, the dealer. I wouldn't mind so much but I was very very sure about asking this and confirming it would come in a transporter considering I am hundreds of miles from the dealer!

I don't think I have 'arriving on delivery truck' in writing but you have to expect to be able to believe something someone says on the phone. frown

Annoyed.

I think ultimately delivery falls to the dealership but I would speak to your broker/dealer first.

Thanks. I will give them until the end of the day to call me back (the agent) else I will call the dealer tomorrow. What was the case with others here from CVL? Did your delivery mileage come off your allowance?

Delivery mileage was just that in my case, my allowance started once the car was delivered. I thought all CVL deals had free delivery?

That sounds like an excellent deal. I am on the lookout for an R, FRS, CTR but all are about £450 p/m and given I commute by train every day that's a lot of money to pay and have sitting in the drive every day going nowhere. Is this for a facelifted ones (and I'd want DSG too but prob not much else).

Has anyone got the discount code for ALA gap insurance? I'm assuming they have been best so far on quotes given no other companies names have popped up here?

Code is PISTON12.

Just purchased mine. £178
This was £10k gap & £2k deposit for 3 years plus £500 excess insurance cover for a year.

Mine finally getting delivered tomorrow PM.

CVL have also called today to sell GAP insurance , funny how they can contact when there's a commission in it for them.
