Just purchased mine. £178
This was £10k gap & £2k deposit for 3 years plus £500 excess insurance cover for a year.

Mine finally getting delivered tomorrow PM.

CVL have also called today to sell GAP insurance , funny how they can contact when there's a commission in it for them.
Yup
But when they need to call back on something it doesn't happen !

What are you guys paying for insurance?

Of course, a huge part is post code, age, convictions/claims, but interesting nonetheless.

Was getting quotes yesterday, lots of variations I've quoted on the 220 TSI model?

Mine seemed to be coming out at around 298 last month then yesterday 340.

Age 31 10 years no claims no points

Going to ring my current insurer today as I've paid for 12 months and only 4 months in so hopefully can do a straight swap over

My insurance was quite reasonable. £998 for the year for a 22 year old with 1 years NCB and a city postcode.

I'm paying ~£300 for 20K per year. Mid thirties and reasonable post code.

Got my paperwork through from NVS today and tracker updated to in the UK so hopefully not too long to go now.

For those that have already taken delivery, does it come with CarPlay or is this still an option on the Gti?

Added ours onto aviva policy so now multicar, 15k miles for 10 months just an extra £129. Which is crazy low.
ALA called today and lowered the gap to £7.5k. Said it was plenty.

Handover was done in about 2 minutes, mileage starts at 80. I gave him a lift to station and he answered some questions about the dsg that was helpful. Feels quicker than I expected, power delivery totally different to the supercharger I'm used to & the lack of whine.

Not driven a dsg before so it may take a week to get used to, I found normal mode a bit dull so paddles have had a quick session already.

My insurance was just swapped from my A4 Avant to the GTi and my monthlys have gone down by £8 a month, so cheaper. Not sure on my annual price as I'm due for renewal in 2 months so will know better then. However I did get quotes before I went with my current insurer of around £500-£600 with 8 years NCB, clean licence, out of town, 32 yrs old and ok postcode.

Have a feeling my current insurer will be best in the long run.

That sounds like an excellent deal. I am on the lookout for an R, FRS, CTR but all are about £450 p/m and given I commute by train every day that's a lot of money to pay and have sitting in the drive every day going nowhere. Is this for a facelifted ones (and I'd want DSG too but prob not much else).
Deal was only available for a few days and has now expired.

Anyone else find the USB slot in the centre console compartment is in an awkward position? It's a pain trying to get an iPhone charger in there!

Also I hope i'm not the only one, but I quite like the DSG fart/pop sort of thing on the gear change at full throttle getmecoat

I'm yet to use the USB....don't get the pop in a manual, unless I'm just not reving it hard enough yet.

Annoyed.

Enquired with Esure how much rebate i would get by switching down to a Gti from a Golf R and was told its actually an increase of £80. Talk about illogical.

Unlucky - on the contrary I've been quoted £80 back for switching up my GTD to a BMW M135i!
