The S5 lease thread
Discussion
I've spoken with the rocket scientists, brain surgeons and all round geniuses who staff Customer Services at Audi UK again today.
I'm confident that they've got everything in hand now.
Quotes:
"It's only 'a bit' late"
"I don't know what stage it's actually at"
"It looks like it should probably be shipped on Tuesday"
"I'm not sure if it's been built yet"
"It shows that it's in QC still and that it went in there on 20/2"
"It's showing that it went into preparation on 24/2" (note that it therefore went into QC before it existed)
"If you try calling at the end of next week, we might have more news"

They've been doing their best but no doubt getting the same duff info from MK.

Did you speak to Lynsey in Fleet Sales? She has been very helpful. They've been doing their best but no doubt getting the same duff info from MK.
As I said, they're doing their best with duff info as far as I can see.
I'd be interested to know how many more Sportbacks are held up.
When the dealer called MK again on Friday to see what's going on, before they even gave the details the MK person asked them if it was an S5 they were calling about because there are so many of them being held back.
MK said they're getting very little news from Germany other than there have been big problems, or words to that effect.

The finance docs say registration dste 31st March 2017, seeing that I thought it will cover me for the increase.
What is the date on everyone else's from the Audi finace docs?
Yes that is the expected and advisory 1st registration date, but there is no guarantee of this in case of a delay. If you read your finance docs it will say you are responsible for any tax increase costs unless you have a written agreement stating otherwise. I have, and someone else on this thread has also I believe. Like I mentioned, keep on top of it!!What is the date on everyone else's from the Audi finace docs?

I simply won't accept my car, if and when it ever turns up, if they try to sting me for any extra costs after it's spent all this time in QC. It's now into its 4th week in that status.
I would like to think that by not accepting it with the new VED you dealer would cave in and take the hit. Truth is that these are in such demand at the moment it would just get snapped up by another buyer so they probably wouldn't care that much.I'm far from impressed with Audi UK so far.

So I've just got off the phone from Audi Sheffield chasing a status update on my S5 SB as its now been in QC for just over a week..
I didn't get the name of who I spoke with, but she did say that there had been a "few problems" getting some A5's & Q'5s through quality control..
She also mentioned she had another customer who's S5 had been in QC for just over 2 weeks but had now just moved to transit.
She said not to worry and call back in 1 weeks time. I mentioned I was concerned it was nearing the impending March 31st deadline for VED hikes - her reply was that yes, this may affect the lease rate, but that if the car was registered after the 31st Audi may look at a contribution to the increase, which may be a result of them knowing they have issues getting certain customer cars through QC in a timely manner..
Also, regarding my p. plate - she advised me to fill in my retention cert with "VWFS UK" as the nominee and return back to DVLA. Once I get it back, then to forward it to FS.
HTH.
Thanks for the update. Always interesting to see what's going on.I didn't get the name of who I spoke with, but she did say that there had been a "few problems" getting some A5's & Q'5s through quality control..

I'd like to think it's my car mentioned - the one that's been in QC for 2 weeks but now on its way - but mine's actually entered its 4th week of filling and T-Cutting now, so probably not.

Anyone else with 6th march build date spoken to sheffield audi and/or fleetsauce? Any estimate for delivery? They keep telling me different stories... lady I spoke to today seemed delighted to be able to tell me that it was looking like mid-april, whereas back end of last week I was told i'd have it by end of next week....
Distinct lack of communication... feel bad moaning when I think of porkinsider's predicament, just wondered if anyone else with the same build date has a set delivery date yet?
Don't feel bad on my behalf, seriously.Distinct lack of communication... feel bad moaning when I think of porkinsider's predicament, just wondered if anyone else with the same build date has a set delivery date yet?
It's not easy for anyone trying to juggle with moving delivery dates.
Besides, mine apparently went into QC before it existed so I suppose it's still possible it might be delivered last week in Audi's amazing S5 time warp.

Yeh I meant insurance in general... now that I've got the reg and I know I'll have it soon I'll get some quotes, just wondered if anyone on here knew definitively....
Can't help you on that score but I noticed that insurance generally seems higher than I'd expect on these cars.Best quote I've had is around £570 including business use. I had quotes of sub £450 for an M3/4 with the same cover.
Seems a little surprising given the M is around 30% more expensive and quite a bit quicker and more powerful.
Not that a couple of hundred quid is anything to worry about in the grand scheme of things!

I've asked specifically for that now three times, but each time have been told that they can't do anything with it until it has been listed on the system as being assigned ( or something along those lines) to the supplying dealer. I'm really not sure what else to do other than start shouting at someone - although I doubt that will get very far.
Sounds like a jobs worth. 5 min job using the VIN number they already have. It's all computerized after all.Never again for me. I don't know how people can deal with them on a regular basis.
Definitely back to BMW for me after this one, if not INSTEAD of this one.

I recieved my paperwork on the 9th which had the VIN but no reg. Car is saying still in Emden, now a month there.
Has anyone recieved a car from Audi Newbury via Central Vechicle Leasing?
Ive been chasing Audi as Central UK Vechile Leasing have not bothered to reply or update me.
Still not seen an SB in the flesh yet!

Mine was built and finished by 18th Feb according to the tracker, but between sitting in QC for weeks and making incredibly slow progress once out of there, it still hasn't made it to Emden nearly 5 weeks after they cobbled it together, as far as I can tell.
I'm chuckling to myself at TomScrut's restlessness as he waits for his car which should have been weeks behind mine.
Edit to add: mine shows little sign of arriving in time to beat the VED increase and Audi are refusing to cover it. So anyone whose car has overtaken mine and who has a guarantee that they won't get stung for the VED hike, I hope mice make a nest under your bonnet and eat all the wiring.
(The above is obviously tongue-in-cheek!)

Its not that mine has jumped a queue its that yours for some reason has deiced to go to the back of it by the sounds of it.
I agree. Given the dates we were all told, pretty much everyone should have theirs by now!TomScrut said:
Have they now formally told you its going to go up in price? If you were to threaten to cancel on those grounds I wonder if they will change their standing on it?
Yes they have and no they won't. Apparently...Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
