The Golf R lease thread
Discussion
Just trying to insure the new car and having to go through a new quote as my current insurer wont insure me as I'm not the owner or registered keeper.
Went through the whole process on confused, selected 'Private lease' as the owner and registered keeper, picked the insurer, etc. and lastly went to buy through privilege and noted this in the assumptions:
ETA. Had to ring them in the end so they changed something in their system I think, same price and no problems otherwise.

It states that the vehicle is owned or registered by you... etc etc or a lease company?
I'd be annoyed if I hadn't read that bit!
I've insured mine today, no extra cost for private lease - probably because we'll look after it more than an owner perhaps?
£489.47 with £26 cashback

Fleeced! Mine was £336 including motor legal protection. It states that the vehicle is owned or registered by you... etc etc or a lease company?

Very much dependant upon post code as well. I have been driving for over 30 yearsand have max NCD and am expecting £400ish if the A45 is anything to go by
Indeed - I'm not in a low risk group unfortunately! Category C - http://www.motorcarinsuranceuk.co.uk/post-code-rat...Just sorting the GAP insurance on GAP123, there are separate options under payment method for 'Contract Hire' and 'Lease Hire' anyone know the difference and which we need for these deals through VWFS, I would guess Contract Hire as the VWFS agreement is titled Personal Contract Hire.

That's what I've been using - I think it's the same price anyway.skahigh said:

The online quote had come back as £236, which is a pretty darn good price, but I had to ring them to clarify this with them.
They confirmed that this was okay with, VWFS as owner and registered keeper and then recalculated the price -
£216
Mine is now arranged for delivery next Tuesday, build week 23/05. Also noticed the price went down from my original quote to the VWFS paperwork. I did query it with the dealer as I was concerned my options hadn't been added. They apparently have been added but the cost was taken off to fulfil some criteria of the deal with VWFS. It doesn't make any sense but hoping that all is well on Wednesday...

Just cancelled the auto insurance on my ST2 that's going back in a few weeks.
Got a provisional quote for the R Estate. £655 Looks like I won't be renewing with Sainsburys this year
You may be in a high risk area where that particular model gets stolen?Got a provisional quote for the R Estate. £655 Looks like I won't be renewing with Sainsburys this year

I'm in what is considered to be a bad postcode (F rated) in South London. My insurance was very slightly cheaper than my current 3.0 A6.
Mine is £700 odd with business use and a new driver with less than 1 year experience in S London. Only £50 more expensive than my old Fiesta Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
