I’ve always done the 2 year fixed price servicing with VW. It’s around £260 for two services.
Car had done 12.5k when I came across fixed price servicing so over the initial mileage max.Have to say excellent service all around from Marshalls , my second time in using them.
£210 got me the long life service at 16k , car washed, service video, full visual health report and a bottle of screenwash they didn't need to use.
No pressure to buy replacement tyres but a quoted fitted price of £106 per corner.
From the report I can see that the front tyres are wearing outside in (they're now on the rear) tyre depths are o/e 3mm, mdl 3.5mm ,i/e 4.5mm .

GTi had its first service today at 18000 miles £214 for full service and was driven back to house and collected again when it was ready. Happy with that!
I’m on the verge of needing new front tyres but can live with that after 18000 miles.
Will check for sure when driving next but think it’s had a software update as Car-app is a lot more responsive and I’m sure the DIS had additional screens (I may be wrong but i don’t remember it having a digital speedo)

Still just over 10k with mine. Working away for 9 months this year so the car won’t be doing much more mileage in my hands, mostly the wife will take it out once a week to keep things working.
When you say digital speedo are you just referring to the speed digits in the divers Binnacle? Mines always had that, you just have to go through the menu options to find it.
Not had any strange electrical issues that happened twice previously when the binnacle screen goes dead, which is good.
I must say after a year I have come to really like the car and will slightly miss it when it goes back in December. I know it’s early but already keeping one eye on the latest deals out there. Not sure what I might go for next, if a cheap Golf R estate deal drops I may take that..time will tell.

Speedo etc always been there. They are available in settings to list as you want. I've done 3 euro trips and it's useful as you can change to kph and km so can keep on on the centre display rather than looking for smaller numbers on actual speedo. I think you may be right that car-app has had additional info added to it , shame the satnav hasn't had one though as blue route always seems to want to take through a major town instead of on the ring road. It's a good idea , PITA , to check another map app before selecting which route.
Thanks.
Thing is, i haven't heard of the broker before.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a Golf GTI on a cheap lease ... thank you PH lease thread! Properly pov spec...white, no optional extras (albeit base spec fantastic), but fantastic value.
2 questions
1) I'm running under the contracted mileage allowance. Reckon i'll have done c 10-11k when I hand it back in Dec 18. Whereas I'm paying for 14k (7 p.a.). can I expect a refund form VWFS for undershooting agreed mileage?
2) If I only do 10-11k miles, will I be able to hand the car back before the first service?!
Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers

Ring them now about the mileage and they might reduce the monthly cost. But you wouldn’t get any refund after handing it back
Trick to avoid the first service will probably be to hand back slightly early so it’s just short of 2-years old. As long as it’s not showing due now or overdue you should be fine

I think I can answer 2). I asked at dealer about servicing and they told me it's not due till around 18-20k miles. So technically you can hand back without a service if only doing slightly over the allowance. 2 questions

Strange. My car is telling me I need a service after 5500 miles.Depends on what service regime the car is set on.
Time & Distance - every 9,300miles / 12 months, whichever occurs first.
Longlife Regime - variable up to a maximum of 18,600miles / 24 months
Service counter is based on Kilometres and converted to miles.
15,000km = 9,300miles
30,000km = 18,600miles
VW UK round up to 10k miles and 29k miles for convenience.
