Just waited 5 months for my 3l tdi Q5 to be delivered. Local garage took delivery around the 18th Feb. Arranged to have it 1st March, turned up for collection but didnt get out of the parking lot before its first fault, ESP failure. Back into the garage, waited an hour, couldnt fix it. Told me it was a sensor fault and they would order all 4 in to be sure. Off I went with a call expected in a couple of days. That evening the light switch went through the dash...Also noticed the Hill Park Assist didnt work, reported both faults. Later last week a call came, it was to be picked up the next day. Off it went, having been told it would be back with me by end of the day. Unfortunately it never came back. Instead I got a call to say the part they needed was on back order and it would have to be flown over from Germany. In the meantime the car would have to be taken off the road until it could be fixed, at least a week.

Now these things do happen, I accept that but this should have been checked with a fine tooth comb before leaving the factory for one thing and having had the car for 10 or so days, it really should have been checked by the local dealer too.

By the time I get it back, i'll have had it for 2 weeks and only driven it home!

Not a good start! Be interesting to see how they plan to compensate me....if at all!

I'd give it back under the sales of goods act; ( I know people that have done this!)... Thats just ridiculous on a new car!

It's only a couple of relatively minor problems, annoying yes but not as annoying as rejecting and waiting weeks/months for a replacement. Obviously if more things go wrong I'd reject it (friday afternoon special etc.).

What courtesy car have they given you?

As for checking when they leave the factory, why would they? All Audi's are superbly built that they don't need to do this sort of thing wink As for the dealer PDI, they probably think the same way as the factory biggrinbiggrin

Even if you reject the car are you entitled to a courtesy car of a similar ilk until they refund your money or provide a new car?

I'd not be happy if that was my new car, niggly faults or not.

If I were Audi, I`d be planning to fix the faults and put you in a courtesy car while it was being sorted. Nothing else at this point.

I wouldnt reject the car unless the situation gets worse, have waited far too long.

They have given me a courtesy, as compensation perhaps I can use said vehicle to take up a new life as a crime lord...
