Chrome mirrors are "where it's at" ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
They shouldn't be chrome, they should be polished aluminium on your S4.![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Usually known as "bling mirrors"

Is this correct about the roof bars? Mine are definately solid ally and are rather nice.

I have an S-Line Quattro. S Line on the front grille, Quattro on the boot lid.
Cheers. Which car?Raven Flyer said:
Quattro is a mechanical spec, S Line is a fit out spec and neither are dependant on the other.
Yes, thanks, I knew that. Just wondered which Audi deemed to be the more important factor when selecting which badge to attach to the grille.(Thank heavens for PH - the only place where you could ask such a question and, not just get a sensible answer, but also not be ridiculed for wondering something so geeky/nerdy)
The non S Line grille is different and doesn't have the place to stick a badge. The badge thing is pure snobbery and I would be happy with no badges.

If you re-read the above, 'Raven Flyer' said that the non S-line grille was different (correct) and that it doesn't have the place to stick a badge (incorrect - non S-line grille with 'quattro' badge pictured above)

This is going to confuse you....my Jan 2005 purchased '54 plate S4 Avant has (I think) got the ali mirrors - they are most definitely cold to the touch and certainly don't feel like plastic!
Audi do swap bits around quite a bit. Some Quattros have plastic bootlids, some do not, some have galvanised panels, some do not, with no apparent logic in terms of build sequence or specification.

I can't see Audi using chrome plated plastic for the S4 mirrors. After all, their not exactly into weight saving, are they.Fort Jefferson said:

I can't see Audi using chrome plated plastic for the S4 mirrors. After all, their not exactly into weight saving, are they. The mirrors were changed from aluminium to plastic for the 2005 MY in order to comply with pedestrian safety legislation. I had a 2003 B6 S4 saloon with aluminium mirrors, and a friend's late 2004 B6 S4 Cabriolet had the plastic ones. It was easy to tell the difference between the mirrors on the two cars when they were side by side.
