Audi LED Matirx Headlights - Opinions

Hello all,
I've been advised that due to a dealer discount I now have additional budget for my new company car (A6 Avant Black Ed) of approx £1000. Unfortunately it's not enough to add the technology pack as I hoped, but the matrix lights are in budget.
Question is, are they a worthwhile addition over the standard LED headlights or a bit of a gimmick? We do live out in the country without a lot of street lighting and use the car during the evenings a number of times a week so would get plenty of use.

Have them on my A8 and they are great.
Leave em on full beam on dark lanes and they are amazing to watch as they block out sections if a car appears around the corner.
Very rarely get cought out.
Also good if you are behind a slow coach, you know, 22 in a 30 limit etc.
Freaks them out with your lights banging up around them without blinding them.
They either speed up, or get out the way.

I'll 2nd that; good pieces of kit and vastly superior to the older 'high beam assist' that seemed to get caught out more often than not.
Definitely agree with the high beam assist, I have this on my '64 plate and I've stopped using it. In my opinion the polite way to use full beam is to dip before an approaching car actually comes round the corner towards you but the assist likes to give drivers a nice blinding blast of full beam for a second before dipping.Thanks guys. I've added them to the order now so looking forward to seeing how well they work.
Agree on basic HBA though. Doesn't seem to react quickly enough in certain situations and makes you feel very anti-social. I'm hoping the improved functionality and intelligence of the Matrix setup allows it to be used without worrying about that.

Have on my TTS - never been flashed once. You get very lazy about oncoming vehicles, very very quickly. Fantastic to watch them working & just cutting out where needed.
On the TTS, you can change the reaction speed as well.
I've found this really impressive. I drove down late one winters night from North to South Wales, A470 etc, and it was brilliant.
It's surprising how much easier the drive is when you can actually see where you're going in pure white light.
I did wonder if some of the people I came across thought an alien abduction was going to take place.
