Just taken delivery of my nearly new (Demo) R8 V10. Big decision to move from the Porsche Turbo but I do have the say it is a lovely car and makes the most stunning noise!

Hi Blue and congrats!!

I picked up my V8 R8 4 weeks ago - they are awesome cars!!!! Mine continually amazes me with it's ability to thrill and yet be so comfortable and easy to live with.

Colour combination really suits the new wheels smile

Much more so than the red/blue press cars.

Great looking car - what are your initial thoughts in comparison to the turbo ?

Hard to find at the moment so deals are difficult. I think Dick Lovett has a couple at the moment and the black one looks a good price. More interested in getting a good price for the Porker.

Does the R10 R8 V10 have a different grille to the R8? Looks different in that pic.

Anyway, nice car.

Ta.

p.s. Why isn't it called the R10?

The '8' in R8 has no reference to the number of cylinders, it is just a model name. The R8 V10 and R8 Spyder are just different iterations of this same model.

The car was named after the original R8 LMP1 race car, the successor to which was the R10 TDI.

hi Craig,

I hate to say this (and early days) but I love the Aidi and in many ways as an everyday car a lot better than the Porker. The Audi is a lot more refined (interior and dynamics), better handling balance and the engine sound is amazing. Not sure it would give the same pleasure as the Porsche when pushing the car but I have the ultima for that. Speed wise very little in it but I think the torque from the Porsche may win in overtaking. I need a vmax so you can have a go!
