Hi all,
I have been offered a 2005 3 door red GTi MK V, DSG, 93k, FSH. Car has a few scratches and parking dings and kerbed alloys from London life but it is offered at £3,800.
Does this sound a good deal, as I have never had any interest in Golf's until my work buddy has offered it before part ex.
Thanks

That is silly cheap, go for it! With a little tidying up you'd easily be able to move that on again for £4500 - £5000 privately. Mk5 GTI values have been very static for quite a long time as people tend to hold onto them for a while and aren't prepared to sell them for nothing, similar to E46 M3s.
That sounds like a good deal - saying that I have spent the best part of £1400 a year maintaining mine (30k miles a year) or so for the past 4 years or so.
Always some bearing, valve, bush, compressor, brake component, Tyre or service to do.
Should have had at least one cam belt/water pump change, also should have had the DSG oil done at 40k and 80k.
Check the air con works, tyres are in good condition and DSG not too jerky.
